Wasn't there a fighting game based on the show?
Unofficial, and got the cease-and-desist hammer applied to it. It's since switched to original characters designed by Lauren Faust.
Someone else came around and decided to finish it from the alpha build that was leaked.

There's already a trading card game, which I haven't played, but from what I've heard sounds pretty intricate.

But a videogame sounds a little iffy, A game where "Friendship" had to be a core mechanic, and it couldn't have any content that was unacceptable for a TVY audience.

It doesn't sound like it would easy, cheep or profitable. And simply reading last sentence made every Hasbro executive shit their pants.

Haha, I just imagined a My Little Pony game by Telltale, although I can't imagine the 3D models looking the most....fluid. I would still buy it, though.
This sounds like the best idea since Telltale making a Borderlands game. And now I'm sad that it will never exist. The world feels a little bleaker.

It's possible.

Hasbro has purposely allowed MLP related stuff to be made and sold just cause of the brony fanbase... Heck, gamers specifically got some official MLP content on the Xbox. (Avatar items, icons, and backgrounds though). So it is possible.

Also, after reading the posts... It seems people are mistaking the target audience. "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" CARTOON's target audience is children of both genders and their parents/family. (The toys are the only things being sold primarily for 'little girls').

And since the cartoon's target audience does count both genders and even a whole family, it is possible for a good Rated E game of MLP to be officially made and sold. Highly possible! Heck, it could be a pretty good open world RPG type of thing for all we know... Or a "Spyro" type of thing. (And btw, I still love Spyro so that will be fine by me too).

Personally, I'd love to see a platformer based on FiM made by Wayforward. In the immortal words of Woolie: "Wayforward. Never failing. Never fucking failing."

Need a refresher on Wayforward? Well...

Do you think a My Little Pony game licensed by Hasbro would sell? Maybe an open world game? I mean, the brony fanbase is quite sizable. Or do you think it would get dismissed as a shovelware game, since games based on shows like MLP are ususally of decidedly poor quality? I think it would make quite a bit of money. Honestly, I'm surprised they haven't already made a game based on MLP.
... there's a tabletop RPG for Ponies. It's called Ponyfinder (as in Pathfinder, but with Ponies).

So, if someone made a video game version of that, then you'd pretty much have what you're suggesting.

Also, if you like tabletop gaming... you might wanna check it out. Just sayin'.
