One game that should be remade following Fallout's success is Arcanum.

Arcanum of Steamworks and magick Obscura - full name.
For those of you that don't know - it was made by the creators of Fallout 1 and 2 after they left Interplay and made Troika Games.

-Awesome and deep original world
-magic vs technology is an awesome concept
-just the backgrounds you could pick to be of were insanely cool and original.
-every little stat mattered, and there were SOOOO many ways to play

Example:
if you reach around 20 pts in Beauty, people just fall to their knees at the sight of you.
if you had a magickal aptitude and walk into a tech store the shopkeeper would flip out at you, just like if you are a technologist and get to close to a mage the start wheezing and feeling sick.

-spells and tech skills were really creative and well made.

Example: magelock - use it to lock all the windows and doors of the house you just broke in to in the middle of the night, in case assassination of the residents in their sleep doesn't go as planned and they wake up screaming. In that case they can't flee through a window, and the authorities can't get in as easy, giving you time to teleport out of there (if you also have that spell).

-and lastly, and most importantly, playing evil in that game was realllllly well made. Games with morals of late (Fallout 3) just don't do it right. Evil doesn't mean you kill and murder innocent people - that gets old really quick. Evil is stabbing your best friend right in the back when s/he needed your help the most, and doing it in a way that they don't know and still thank you with their dying breath as they reveal their secret treasure to you as their best buddy.

So you want to take a great game, and remake it in the same manner as Fallout 3? I'll pass. Arcanum deserves more than that.

Final Fantasy 7 definetley (Stay away fan boys) that game's biggest flaw are the graphics, and the story could be tweaked a bit.

Legend of the Dragoon
Jet Set Radio
Shenmue, or they could just make Shenmue 3.
Crazy Taxi

All of these games were amazing.

I totally agree that fallout 3 was shit. I only mention it as a point to people that would say, Arcanum would not make money if it was remade. It just rocked how magic really felt like magic - not just a weapon that fires from your hands instead of from a gun.

Also (other than the quoted post) my thread totally got ninjaed lol. I meant this to be a discussion about Arcanum... but I guess no one has played it anyway so you guys can just keep doing what your doing.

I'm gonna agree with ae86gamer on Jet Set Radio Future and Crazy Taxi. Those games were awesome. The one I want is Final Fantasy VII and to a lesser extent, Crash Team Racing. FF VII for the fact it was a great game and CTR as it was the most fun I had with a Crash game.

I just had a thought: Myst series and Crysis engine.

Failing that : Battlezone, Rayman (HD, no other changes), Timesplitters, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure.

I have played the game and it was fun, heck I'm probably gonna reinstall it and go through it some more times. The magic/technology trade-off is perhaps the best system of balance I've seen in any game. The skills are plentiful, though I haven't found a use for a few of them. A good level in Persuasion can see a player through most situations. Also had a variety of things to do from item gathering, dungeon crawling, and even sex.
