A new PS3

A new console this soon? Wow I would instantly lose all respect for Sony.

Talking about a PS3 Slim, as Sony's made a trend of sprucing up their consoles. Basically making them lighter, a tad prettier, and cheaper.

On topic: I already have one of the better models of the original PS3. 80GB, complete backwards compatibility, and four USB ports, as well as Wi-Fi, which I think some models left out? Anyways, I'm quite happy with it. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well I can't see any harm in Sony making a slim version of the PS3, as it would entice new buyers and ultimately benefit the market. I personally won't buy one as my PS3 is just fine...

I've been really tempted to get one for MAG but I recently tried Call of Duty 4 on my friends PS3 and I thought the online was pretty shitty(connection wise) so I'm rethinking my purchase. But then again that could be my friends internet, but I doubt it.

If anything Live is bad connection wise since it makes you pay for player to player servers on it's exclusives which means it hosts off of other players connections so if the host player has a bad connection everyone else lags or the game ends. It also allows for less players whereas the ps3 exclusives have dedicated servers with little to no lag like Resistance 2 which has 64 players and no lag(unless your connection is bad obviously).

I would not see any reason to buy either the PS3 or 360, even if both cost only $1. All the games I want I have on my PC.

I would consider one if my current PS3 broke down at some point.
Other than that I don't see any reaason to get one.

There are still persistent rumors that BC is coming via a firmware update. Ars Technica had an article on it not too long ago. Couple that with the rumors that PS2 games might be sold via the PSN and it gets pretty juicy. I say it happens in 2010.

I hope they do that, I have a 60GB PS3 but it cant play the PS2 Ratchet and Clank games, I was beyond angry when I discovered this, as it was the reason I got the 60GB version

if i wasnt totally bankrupt right now i would buy a new ps3 on arrival... just to make final fantasy that much extra prettier... of since i am broke i might end up selling teh ps3 i actually own which is too depressing to even talk about... oh life, how cruel you are sometimes!
