Why would ANYBODY watch the super bowl without the commercials? To watch some douchebags play handegg?
why do people watch soccer? to see dives, crying and 3 shots a game? i prefer a sport that takes athletic talent opposed to dramatic talent.
Cause soccer is far more strategically demanding, requires more technique and finesse, and the goals actually feel amazing when your team is scoring because they don't happen that much, which is a good thing.

The reason American's try to make out soccer to be boring is because they are not the best at it, the U.S. tends to enjoy the sports they rock in a lot more, which is why they had to invite a few, also, a country that calls an annual sporting event in which only two countries bother taking part at the "World Series" doesn't get to talk trash about foreign sports by default.

PS: Soccer is by far the most popular sport in the world, literally everybody realized it's the best sport except you guys.
I should first point out that I'm not american, so that whole part of your argument is wrong. Also, as someone who has played both sports i can tell you the football is much more technically demanding than soccer. And of course it's the most popular sport, that's because 90% of the world is poor as dirt, but anyone can kick around a sack. That doesn't make it a better sport, just available to more people.

Literally no interest in American Football.

We only really hear about it over in the UK during the Super bowl and never play it, 99% of us dont know the rules either or whats going on!

my take on sports in general that includes american football is as follows:
If you, friends or family do not do it but you still have something to do with it... you're doing something wrong!

(doing it includes managment and such)

so naturally I don't get why anyone is watching any sport as it's one of the most boring activities I can think of...

Eh, a few of the guys in my class who's interested in sports watched it last night and i guess the sports bars are showing it. Me and the majority of the people in Sweden either don't care or don't know about it.

I couldn't even tell you where the teams come from tbh.

Live in Norway. Sports that call themselves football that is actually handegg are not shown on TV. And not a single f**k is given.

Did watch it, despite the fact that my KC Chiefs did their usual choke and lost in the first week of the playoffs (at home, no less) and I had no real stake in the result. Congrats to the Green Bay Packers, see there's life beyond Favre and his sexting antics. I'm Aussie, btw.

I'm probably not gonna watch it. But a huge majority of my friends are going to, even if it means they wont get any sleep tonight :)
Welcome to the Escapist!

Anyway OT: No, no one in Australian could care less about American football, instead we'll keep making 'stupid Americans' jokes, might as well be our pastime considering...

Well to be perfectly frank, down here in Australia we all kinda think superball is a stupid sport for wimps who wont play a contact sport without wearing more armour than a tank (i mean really how much do you need???). That being said the two most popular Australian sports is AFL (Australian Rules Football) and Cricket. One being a game that Americans have no interest in mainly cos your shit at it(no thats not an insult, because ITS TRUE, your just crap at cricket) and the second being the only sport in the world where you get points for MISSING the goal....

The only sport where that amount of armour is acceptable is full-contact simulated combat.
Hell, even most simulated combat uses heavy canvas at most, and shorts at best.

Also: I'd rather be gaming.

I don't really care much for major sporting events. Even the Olympics or Commonwealth games bores me.

No...I don´t even think it airs here. (Germany)
Other then that, I don´t like american football all that much...british rugby is more brutal and "soccer" is less complex, 22 dudes, a ball, two goals, GO!...
Sure there is a shitload of rules, but you don´t have to know all of it to know what is going on.

But I´m not a huge sportsfan myself anyway, watched the world cup for pure patriotism (Suck it, UK! We steamrolled your asses XD *no offence), but aside from irregular following of formular one, I don´t care about sports broadcasts much.

well, i'm german and - what a surprise - also live in germany, and all i can say is that neither me nor anyone i know has any interest in the superbowl. of course, there may be people living here that do, but not very many...

but i guess it's always like that regarding the main sports in other countrys. as far as i know, most americans don't like soccer, and don't care about it. i mean, it was even parodied (is that a word? hm, whatever.) in the simpsons, where soccer was portrayed as slow and boring. which it isn't... ^^

The BBC seem to be pushing the SB for some reason - I myself prefer rugby (go go six nations!).
Huzzah! I only watch bits of american football because the players look so silly. No offense.
