A question for non-Americans!

As a Canadian, I have known about "western football" for quite some time in fact the Grey Cup in Canada has been going on longer than the super bowl, but nobody really cares about it here an as a result its no longer part of the culture (unless you are from Saskatchewan)

I watched a build-up vid on BBC iPlayer and thought i'd give the SB a go this year and to be honest I enjoyed it and will deffo watch again every year. good show.

I live in the UK but me and my freinds have followed the Packers for the past five years and have stayed up until 3:15am (current UK time) to watch the Superbowl on the BBC.. and it was awesome! (if stressful!)

I have no interest in american football and so will not be watching it. I do love sports but I think american football isn't very good to watch.

One thing I really don't get is how much people seem to get exited about the advertisements, it's bizarre!

I don't think that I have ever watched the Super Bowl in my life. I find American football to be somewhat boring and tedious, but hey to each their own. Where I live there is absolutely no mention of the Super Bowl and I would have remained oblivious of its passing if it wasn't for Twitter.

Question from a non-American: how and why do some people 'enjoy' Superbowl adverts? They're adverts. Like, still just people trying to sell you stuff. I thought it was pretty funny, though, the way everything is sponsored by someone, and the MVP got a Chevy just to ram that point home. Also weird how the Packers got called 'world' champions?

As an aside, this was my first time watching a Superbowl, and I liked it. I even had a decent grasp on what was going on by the end of it. Packers FTW!

I'm in the U.S. now, but when I was in the Philippines I know it wasn't all it's cracked up to be here. I'm sure some people watched it, but I think they're more into boxing right now...

I'm in America but my family is all foreigners and there is a population of foreigners here, personally I don't understand how can anyone like televised sports, it's so popular that people who don't like it are forced to like it or face becoming an outcast. My mom watched it to figure out how it worked, told her the rules she then got bored and watched something else, this time the commercials are just well....weird, some are funny but others were just disgusting like the "Raising Hope Commercial" where the chick duct taped her abdomen and chest. Don't go down the Bulgarian commercial path! (funny and disgusting commercials, it's worse in Bulgaria though)

Now I pose two questions to you.

1) Why do you think people outside America would want to watch the Superbowl? It is a American league and not an international one.

EDIT: Only good thing about the w/e bowl is the ads. Sometimes. Also sport injury/deaths are always entertaining.
