So I have a copy of star wars knight of the old republic for the xbox and have tried to play it on my 360 but it's basicly unplayable thanks to the 360's shitty backwards compatibility. so now I'm hunting for a pc copy, not too easy for an old game but doing this has got me thinking could this possibility be a reasonable excuse to grab a torrent of the game.
I am actually tracking down a legitimate copy of the game but would it actually be piracy if I did just download it after all I have already paid for use of the intellectual property and do have the game disk, I just can't play it.
I guess you could argue that since I have the xbox version I haven't paid for the right to play it on the pc but what if I had a damaged pc game disk would it be ok to down load it then. I guess this is where services like steam come into play but I really don't like steam I prefer my games not to rely on a net connection.
It just strikes me as an interesting question - if you have paid for a game but lost or damaged the disk is it ok to download a pirate copy or is there really no excuse ever to pirate?
Well anyways my search for KOTOR 2 for the PC continues, wish me luck peoples
