Hi, I'm a PC gamer and I don't hate console gamers. That doesn't mean I don't hate how our platform gets shafted so often.
I need a fairly grunty PC for my artwork, so PC gaming costs me nothing except for the cost of the games. If I wanted to get into console gaming (bleurgh) I'd have to find the money for the console and then an extra AU$20-30 per game. So very not worth it for me.WaaghPowa said:The other thing is that they seem to perceive game PC's in the same respect as a console, that it's a gaming devoted box, which is untrue. We all need a PC, so why not spend the cost of an Xbox/PS3 to make your PC play games just as well, if not better?

I would point out the old cry of the console gamer, which is valid point, cost. I use to be both a console gamer and a PC gamer, mainly console when I was a kid, mainly PC in my early teens, and now I am 90% console, only playing flash games and MMO's on my PC(because they are the only thing it can run).zehydra said:"console gamers were constantly blaming PC gamers for more complicated games or the PCification of console games "
This doesn't happen. It doesn't make sense for it to happen.
I don't blame Console gamers for the dumbing down of PC games. I blame the developer.
HOWEVER.
It is, after all, the Console gamers who are funding it, and Devs will do whatever gets them funding. If half of all the console gamers switched over to PC gaming, the so-called "dumbing down" of PC games would not be taking place.
To tell the truth though, this is not a recent development. It has been happening for a looong time. The PC game market always appears to be dying, and people are looking for a scapegoat.
I should point out that the people are either joking or are merely in a vocal minority. Most PC gamers dont actually give a damn.Racecarlock said:Then this rant didn't apply to you. Read the disclaimer.binvjoh said:Hi there. I'm a PC gamer and I don't hate console gamers.
Actually, most of us don't, just so happends that the ones who do are usually pretty loud about it.
A clear example that sentence structure can be a *****.RhombusHatesYou said:superdelux said:Me: I Play PC and PS3

Why do they want to ban video games and fox news?
As I posted in a monster post not far above from this, the whole constant push for better graphics and more power is what is killing the PC gaming industry. With how long console generations have been going between generations, I can buy a console and it lasts me for 4 years or more without having to upgrade to the next generation. If I buy a PC at the bare minimum price of consoles, it won't even play games from four years ago. If I buy a PC with some of the latest gaming hardware(usually double the cost of consoles at the start of a new console generation), I will be able to use it for gaming for maybe at most a year and a half before I have to upgrade.Rems said:I personally do honestly view the PC as a superior gaming platform to the console. a year and a half? come now, you pulled that out of your ass.Sonic Doctor said:If I buy a PC with some of the latest gaming hardware(usually double the cost of consoles at the start of a new console generation), I will be able to use it for gaming for maybe at most a year and a half before I have to upgrade.
Slow the graphics and power advancement, make things cheaper and last longer, then the PC will be revitalized and gain more of a following in gaming.
Please use the enter bar the next time. The way you have it posted now makes it awful to read and very hard on the eyes.Racecarlock said:snip
It isn't that is really only an advantage in late stage. Even then consoles tend to even out with PCs and their upgrade costs due to PCs having cheaper games. So in the long run costs end up as equal.RhombusHatesYou said:Lower entry cost... although it remains to be seen if that can remain the case into the next console generation.Merkavar said:i cant think of any advantage a console has over a pc.
Nope, before I got my 360 two years ago, I was a PC and Nintendo console(because it is the cheapest console-wise) gamer. I'm going on my experience with my PC over a five year period between 2003 and 2008. I had to upgrade my computer three times in order to keep in running order to play the latest PC games.RadiusXd said:a year and a half? come now, you pulled that out of your ass.Sonic Doctor said:If I buy a PC with some of the latest gaming hardware(usually double the cost of consoles at the start of a new console generation), I will be able to use it for gaming for maybe at most a year and a half before I have to upgrade.
