I saw Pony Effect 2, so I just youtub'd it. I'm so far turned 2 of my RL friends into bronies. Working on the 3rd.

May I make a request to the Brony/Ponygirl escapist community. Can we stop changing all our avatars to pony themed ones? I almost always recognize people with their avatars on this site, and it's a little distracting to not remember anyone because they all have random pony pics. I love the show too, but let's not go crazy please?

1. A couple of webcomics I read mentioned that it was really good, but I didn't really give it any thought until I saw the Elder Scrolls vid. So I did some research. Then I watched an episode. 20 episodes later, I was hooked, caught, and put out to market.

2. I'm actually writing a fanfic right now. (No, there will be no shipping in it.) The weird part is, I usually hate writing.

3. I will not read the fanfic that must not be named. And I try to steer clear of the rule 34, often unsuccessfully. (seriously, what is wrong with these people?

I'm not sure as my memory is like a sieve with ADD. I've been hooked on it a long while now though.

I make images and avatars but no fanfic for me thanks. Actually that's a lie I love this one story that's so bittersweet and makes me sad in a good way. Perhaps I am broken. For some reason I didn't think Bubbles was that sad. On the other hand, Today, Tomorrow, and Forever caused me to shed manly tears.

Okay that one is sad too.

I still think the bubbles thing is sadder though. The whole mother trying to poison her and then abandoning her from Derpy's confused and loving point of view is just...*cries in corner*

I don't know. I just like ponies. I watch episodes, artwork, AMVs, that's about it.

Yes. No creepy / sexual stuff.

Friend linked me the first episode asking me to keep an open mind, originally it was for the irony that I did so, but very quickly it became clear the show was literally good and I liked it free of irony.

I like it for the humour, characters, art, and respect for another children's show that I actually enjoy, I was beginning to think Phineas and Ferb was the last.

My favorite Pony is actually a hard question, all at the same time want to say Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. I think Pinkie probably comes out ahead overall, followed generally by Twilight but Fluttershy definitely has some of the best moments in the show...
You know what, damn it add Rarity and Applejack to my bloody favorites to.
They are all great.

I think episode 9 is probably one of my favorites, the entire thing is one of the best moments.

How deep in the fandom I am is debatable, I really like the show the same as any other show I like, I keep the moments/quotes/characters/events in mind and sometimes they inspire my roleplaying or my art but typically I'm not social enough to join dedicated communities nor diehard enough to feel it necessary to alter my life around just one of the many many stories I enjoy.

Q3: My limits on the fandom? I draw the line at stuff like ugly porn images, gore, and similarly themed fanfics. I will also not go so far as to say I want to marry any of them. But do I want them in my life? You betcha! I am however, writing a fanfic of my own revolving around the characters being transformed into their human form and becoming a sort of super powered team. It's so awesome I could just punch myself for being so geeky.

How did you first get into the show?

- I had been noticing the influx of pony avatars and threads on the subject over the last three months, so when I found a YouTube link to the first episode, I sat down and watched it. Since I had seen the older shows, I expected something that was girl fluff with zero substance.

The pilot changed my perception immediately, and I've enjoyed the show since.

How deep into the fandom do you get?

I would say mildly to well into it. I can use pony terms at times, I have RPed as a pony, and I have read two pieces of fan fiction, but finding fan art is the best part without question.

Do you have limits on how deep into the fandom you will go?

Just one personal limit - No Rule 34/No Porn. After that, it's personal judgment.

What is your favorite pony-related picture?

Episode 15 - Feeling Pinkie Keen

The reason? The slapstick humor, which is very high in the episode, and a nice nod to the days of the Three Stooges for me.

OT:
First started with memebase pics then broke down and watched linked vids in a thread here. All the while wondering why the show wasn't pissing me off. I just kept watching and I'm still not sure why I like it, but I really do.
Additionally, I would definitely buy adult-oriented pony merch. I really hope I see the day.

A lot of my friends of Facebook talk about it, CR! references the show in a lot of his videos, and just plain curiosity.

I've watched every episode, I've done the "Bump bump sugur lump rump" handshake with a co-worker, and I wouldn't be surprised if I start using "20% cooler" in day-to-day use.

Bubbles is definitely sad, but it just didn't quite hit me like Today, Tomorrow, and Forever did. I think it's because I've read a bunch of fanfictions, so I've developed different likes for different characters. The way Derpy is portrayed in Bubbles just isn't how I like to imagine her. To me she came across as, for lack of a better term, simple. I like her better in T, T, and F because she's fully aware of what is going on, and is completely powerless to stop it. Her only real set back is a speech problem.

Q1: I got exposed to it first here, and like many I thought it was an elaborate joke. I've had brief experiences with the previous generations and I couldn't believe people could enjoy it if it was just more of the same. Boy was that off.

Q2: About as deep as possible, before joining the User Group here I had about 150 posts to my name, and over the past three and a half weeks I'm boasting a stout 600 some, of which 97% of which is pony-related.
