A simple discussion amongst Pony fans.

1. Accidently saw the Fluttershy singing Pinkie Pie song. It didn't have that ugly art style of the earlier series(thank you anime influence) so I didn't immediately right it off. By ep 3 I realized this show was gender neutral, by ep 7 I was hooked, by ep 15 it became my favorite show. Network TV sucks, by the way.
2. I'll eventually buy the BD's, I don't get into anything else really. My hope is enough people will start wearing the t-shirts 'ironically' to point where it's no longer ironic.
3. I'm afraid if I delve any deeper I'll be like Natalie Portman's character in Black Swan and find myself turning into a pony or something else crazy. I stay far away from the fanfic stuff, I'm a canon or bust type of guy. Some of the fanart is pretty good, though.
4. Any frame from episode 15.
I heard they want Weird Al to come on. Maybe this can lead to some real talent to come on the show.

How did I get into the show? Truth be told, I just wanted in on all the jokes. I'm a bandwagon jumper, that's all there is to it. It's a great show but only compared to everything else in it's genre. The characters are dynamic so it's fun to play around with them.

How did you first get into the show?
Well the first images I saw of them were from Lauren Devaintart account (fyre-flye) when she announces her show. At the time I thought nothing more than I liked her art style. Months later someone made "who is your favourite Pony" topic on here (it was one of the early ones). It was that and one of the channels I check on Youtube had favour the Flutterguy song had spark my interest. As typical it started with watching abit of episode 1 then I dismiss but then I watch it again, then on part 2, episoder 3 and etc.
How deep into the fandom do you get?
I admit to saying that I want to own a toy of them (I from the UK which the show haven't been aired over here yet). Ok granted I won't get their standard toy (combing their hair and tail) since they are not accurate to the show apperances.
Do you have limits on how deep into the fandom you will go?
I stay clear of all rule 34, shipping of all kind and any other "wrong" fanart of them.

Bah, it's all a blur. I remembered seeing somebody talk about MLP at some point during March Mayhem in some random post, and wondering what that was about. Then, maybe three weeks ago, I was on KnowYourMeme for some other reason when I saw MLP was trending. I looked it up, but again dismissed it as trivial, and something I would never bring myself to watching. Needless to say, that didn't happen. A few days later, it was late at night and I decided, ahh, what harm can seeing one episode do? At least I'll know what the fuss is about. I finally went to sleep at 2:00 am that night, after watching episdoes through 9. It's all downhill from there.
How deep into the fandom do you get?
Well, other than making my avatar on here a pony, and spreading the word of MLP to just about every animation fan that I know of (and making a considerable amount of converts
), I tend to read fanfics when I can ('Cept Cupcakes. I hear that's terrible and I don't want to find out why), look up fan art as I come across it, and listen to/watch the various Youtube videos people have up of Trailers/Remixes of music from the show/other stuff like that. Also, I've memorized Winter Wrap Up. All in all, I'm a fairly devout brony

I'm never going purchase any merchandise, and I stay away from anything Rule 34 related with a thirty-nine-and-a-half-foot pole. I also usually avoid shoehorning in extraneous pony lexicon (though the occassional one isn't impossible to see), and I'm probably not going to be a big fan content contributer (though it's not completely out of the question).

Ok, so as we all know, there have been (quite) a few threads the past week or so asking us why we love this show. There is nothing wrong with other people being curious, but it has been difficult to discuss amongst ourselves without derailing someone else's thread.
I would simply like to ask you all a few questions related to yourself and this show.

As for me, I first got into My Little Pony in a "what's with all the ponies?" threads around a month and a half ago. I had heard of it before, but I finally decided to see what was so great about a show about cartoon ponies. Obviously I liked it.
I get more into the fandom than I originally thought I would. I often find myself on Equestria Daily reading fanfics (even the notorious grimdark one) which is something I've never done. I especially enjoy the authors who create their own little canon within the show's universe. I enjoy seeing the fanart that other people can draw and it makes me wish I could draw as well. I also really enjoy all the remixes and music that people create based on the show.
As for places I will not venture, I refuse to read clopfics or look at Rule 34. I also cannot bring myself to shoehorn words such as "anypony" or "somepony" into my speech.
Lastly, my favorite picture would have to beAlso, if your pictures happen to be large, please spoiler them. I makes less clutter and it helps the page load faster.

How did you first get into the show: Saw some topics and I was like "what the fuck, ponies?" Saw a few episodes and I was assimilated accepted into the herd.
How deep into the fandom do you get? Not too deep. Some of the fan made pictures are fecking hilarious but no fanfic or anything of the sort.

I first got introduced to the show right here on the Escapist. Someone made a thread talking about MLP, and out of curiousity, I checked it out. At first, I thought they were talking about the ORIGINAL MLP, so I was somewhat confused why it so many people were raving about it. I soon discovered the new show, and the rest is history.
As for how deep into the fandom I get, I've seen every episode, I've made a few pony pics, I'm a member of the MLP group here... and that's about it.
I don't think I'll go much deeper down the rabbit-hole (er, pony-hole), in terms of fandom. I don't write fanfiction, I can't draw, and I don't think I'll ever change my avatar to a pony (not because I wouldn't WANT to, but because I love Excel Saga, and I've never seen another Excel Saga avatar on this site. Gotta be unique).
