I know I'm far from the first person to do this, but the posting of this thread will be my 1000th post: I am now Gone Gonzo.

I know there's really no reason for you all to care, but I wanted to thank all you Escapists. My forum career is admittedly pretty short, but I've been involved in a few, and none have been as great as this one. Sure, I've had my arguments here and there, but nothing so bad as to make me consider leaving or anything: overall, it's been a fantastic experience.

The Escapist community is easily the most intelligent online group I've had the fortune of coming across. You guys have renewed my enjoyment of the internet and made for a great place for me to spend all the time I should be spending on schoolwork. I'll let you know if I still appreciate you once finals are done.

All that to say, thank you all. It's been a great run, and I look forward to many more posts with you guys.

I wish to congratulate you on your 1,000th post and agree with every word you have said. I always enjoy logging on to the Escapist, as the community seems to made up of those internet users with at least the slightest degree of intelligence. Unlike other forums, the Escapist prides itself on its quality; the mod staff keeps the site running and free of nuissances, poor grammar and irritating trends are kept to a minimum, and threads are cultivated to be more than repetitive flame wars.

I also wish to share your sentiments, and thank the Escapist. All of those who make up the Escapist. The users, the mod staff, the contributors, everyone who has decided to make the Escapist a home of sorts for themselves.

I got my 1000th post last month sometime, and I've been here for a long time but posting more and more recently. Nobody used to post insane amounts in the 'olden days' per se. Asides Indigo dingo.
