A wild "Epic Poster" appeared!

Hmmm oddly enough I too recently got the "Epic Poster" badge.

EDIT: As as we see, I'm still about 100 posts away from qualifying for it. So yeah, odd.

Recently received a notification saying I've unlocked and have been awarded the "Epic Poster" badge (For obtaining 1000 posts without an infraction).

Whilst this is good, and is my personal goal on this website that i have been working towards for almost 2 years now...


I don't even have 500 yet...


What this supposed to happen or whaaaaat?


Can it be removed? I'd like to earn it legit if possible.

What's your favorite badge on the Escapist and why?

I just got the notable poster badge and epic poster. While the first makes sense, second not so much, like you can see in my postcount. I got the Hot Topic and On Fire badge for a thread a while back, and the On Fire was not apropriate there to and got removed (i think). So same thing might happen to our undeserved epic poster badges.

Well I am glad I am not the only one. Was just looking for a way to contact some staff that could help cause knowing my luck someone would see it on me and I would be banned. Oh evil badge, trying to get me killed it is.

This is just silly.. why would they ban you over something as trivial as a badge xD and it's the system's fault, not ours.

I've been getting a few bugs on the site for the past day or two, not being able to see anything beyond the front page, getting 5001 messages, getting the 1000 posts badge without 1000 posts. I guess the site is just having a brain-sneeze and will get better after some chicken soup and a lie-in.

I just got notified that I received a badge that there's no way I qualify for. In all fairness, how do I get it "un-given"?

I get strange badges for video series like ZP that are either long overdue or relevant but unprovoked. I don't know how they're meant to happen, but they seem to just choose when to present themselves an arbitrary length of time after they're accomplished.
