I hate the "pro life" mentality. I can't fathom that they think that pro-choice people like abortions.
They're horrible, awful, and no one wants them. Someone serious about being pro-choice would know the major psychological effects abortions have on people.
They are horrible and cruel, and no one should have to make that decision.
Of course, life is horrible and cruel, and loves to present people with terrifying choices to make.
I definitely have a question for you, Erana.

I've heard similar statements being made by many abortion-rights supporters, including our president. What I would absolutely love to hear is: Why? Why are abortions a bad thing? If the fetus is not indeed a living person, and has no more importance than an appendix, why in the world would it be a "horrible and cruel" decision to make? I came down with appendicitis years ago, couldn't wait to get that thing out of my body, and felt huge relief when it was out of me. I suffered no "psychological effects" because the thing didn't matter.

If fetuses don't matter (as they mustn't, else you would have to admit that it is killing a living human being), why on Earth do you still admit that abortion is a bad thing?
Simple, because people do not view what the fetus actually is and instead view what it will become. When a woman announces her pregnancy with the intention of keeping the child, she is not remotely considering what it appears like in the developmental stages but the small adorable infant we see in strollers on a daily basis - provided you leave the house.

How horrible 'killing' a fetus is a completely subjective and situational opinion. Take myself for example, if I were to be told by my girlfriend she was pregnant and neither she nor I wanted the child. The abortion would be done without a second thought, none of this emotional scarred aspect and what have you. Obviously the experience is extremely different from a female perspective however the point still remains, it is the person with whom decides how horrible an abortion would feel after the deed is done. Call me selfish however at this point in time, my life comes first. This is essentially why I have every intention of being bloody certain pregnancy does not impede my path.

As for your latter argument, by statistic fact a fetus has not developed a sustainable brain nor can it function outside of the womb prior to the sixth month of pregnancy. By my definition that means it is not a living being because it cannot live on its own; in actuality you cannot technically harm it because without a brain to instruct and register the notion of pain, pain cannot be felt by my understand. Thus if this is to be the case, it is not murder because for all intended purposes it is my belief it does not actually exist; well in the same manner as after birth at least.
