That is before Activision run out of money and got bought by some business men, then went bankrupt again and got bought by the infamous Bobby Kotick.WanderFreak said:I love how people keep complaining about how Treyarch is nothing but an Infinity Ward wannabe.
Treyarch was founded in 1996 and has released dozens of titles.
Infinity Ward was founded in 2002, has released nothing but four Call of Duty titles, and was founded on the success of Medal of Honor.
But, yeah, boo Treyarch and Activision.
By the way, Activision was the first third party developer ever to begin releasing games for consoles, back in the Atari era. That's right, the evil that is Activision was the first champion against the big guys.
Of course they are, now they can continue milk it's name.Andronicus said:I bet you are.Greg Tito said:"We have been very happy with the way we have been able to reconstruct [Infinity Ward]."
Yeah, and MW2 only sold well since COD4 sold well which was because of COD3 which was because of COD2 which was because of COD1 which was because of Medal of Honor Allied Assault which was because of Medal of Honor 1 which was because of Goldeneye.....I forgot what my point was but it is somewhere....How about Goldeneye was awesome.duchaked said:I read this story on IGN earlier today
kinda pissed me off
I mean, Black Ops only sold well because Modern Warfare 2 sold so well
so basically MW2's success (or failures, if you hated it) contributed to Black Op's success (if you loved MW2 you prob bought BO, if you hated MW2 you probably still bought BO...it could be vicious cycle of idiocy if you roll that way)
just Activision's smugness and narrow-minded vision here. yes, make more = more money? gee that worked out so well for Guitar Hero
It -was- quite awesome, yes, and it was called "BLACK OPS". Infinity Ward did a decent job with the MW singleplayer story I'll admit, and I was an especially big fan of the first Modern Warfare (COD4) - but they can't make compelling multiplayer worth jack shit, pardon my language.Greg Tito said:So don't worry. The next Call of Duty is going to be totally awesome.
Agreed. When the controversy first appeared, I just thought to myself, "Those poor bastards..." at the time, MW2 had sold something like over a million copies in the first week. And they don't get a cent of the bonus? Now that everything's good, I just hope that West and Zampella have a scheme for revenge.EcksTeaSea said:I still have yet to actually enjoy Black Ops. Kind of hard with all that stuttering. Otherwise congrats Activision, I still hope West and Zampella get control of CoD.
