Please Activision, please crawl so far up your own arse that you think you can charge £60 for the brand new BASIC edition of this game, so the non-believers/boycotters can laugh our arses off at your stupidity and eventual decline into bankruptcy.

Well, I like the CoD series. Sure, MW2 in all of it's fucked up glory wasn't too good, because they screwed up on a lot of different parts: Perks, weapons, killstreaks, attachments, the whole shebang. But then again, WaW was my favorite CoD game, and Black Ops is being made by Treyarch. So, I'm buying it. Then again, since the CoD series is the only series I can realistically call myself a fanboy of, maybe I don't count. Hell, better than being a Halo fanboy, in my opinion. Too many of those.
Sure, you may say that it's samey, but that doesn't matter to me. Even if you can think of them being samey, you can also think of them being professionally made mods. New weapons, new stats, new attachments, engine upgrades, minor engine updates, new people, new campaign, and new multiplayer with all of the above, entirely new maps, new killstreaks, and a whole new box of fun. Yes, I hate IW for not having dedicated servers. Yes, I still think CoD4 was their prime. Yes, I think they seriously fucked up MW2. Yes, I will still buy Black Ops. Yes, I will still continue to buy CoD games, as long as they don't make a Sci-Fi title. And yes, I realize that saying that I don't like Halo fanboys was a really bad idea. And hey, maybe since it's in Treyarch's hands, we'll get some bullshit zombie shooting fun, again, too.

more people have fallen out of love with MW2 than have been turned on to it. I'm not one of those people. I played it for the first time last week and tbh it was pretty awesome. Looking forward to seeing what this is like.

Sure , players will claim not to want it, will not buy it... but when the hype reaches critical stages the masses will half kill themselves in thier rush to pile money into Koticks coffers.

... just like with MW2, just like with L4D2.

Thats why we have MW2s and Koticks, because as a community gamers are too easy to lure in with hype, and gamers are too quick to forget old issues, and will lap up all the BS again and again and again.

Someone at Activision figured out that since the Infinity Ward team broke up, that might impact the Call Of Duty franchise, so they need Black Op to succeed so the money train doesn't slow down

I'm not a fan but even I'm aware that many fans don't favour the Treyarch CoD games, so I'm imagining peopel are likely to be disappointed with this one.

"You're bound to love this, we're spending so much money on it"? Ooh, Activision, you do know how to woo a guy. (*sigh*)

Well, I suppose we can hazard a guess whose border we'll be seeing around the online videos for a while...

they NEED to put more money in this. infinity ward is gone, most of my freinds dont buy the treyarch call of duties until they hit the bargin bin. treyarch needs to make an epic game to save the franchise, or it will go the way of metal of honor.

It would be so funny if a large portion of people just decided that: "Nah, stuff it I've had enough COD" or some such mentality and the sales were comparably terrible. I wonder If we would see some original IP getting invested in if that happened?

The game itself will likely be tolerable just like it's previous installment, but there has really been no time for a sequel to even be necessary. Looking at the Assassins Creed jump from II to brotherhood as example, if you give no time between series to show growth and some new stuff. It starts to feel like and this isn't a hate on sports games, but like we just got a new roster same exact stuff and I rather not buy a new rostered fps. But this is just my opinion.

And I have yet to even play Modern Warfare 2 yet... ah, well.
you arent missing out, trust me.
Yeah, I don't really feel like I -want- to play it, either. It's more like "Ohh, everyone is playing it!"-mediocre shooter.

The more Activision spends on launches, the worse the end product winds up to be. Amirite?

Is it just me, or are the people at Activision becoming bigger pricks every day? The won't allow female protagonists in their games, they want to start charging for online, and now they've become massive wankers over their new Call of Duty, because we all know Treyarch's CoD's have been SOOO good thus far...

I won't be buying Black Ops. It just doesn't look that special.

Well, since it's coming out around the same time Halo: Reach, it's going to have some stiff competition in the 360 market.

It'll sell well, no doubt. But sales beyond those of MW2?

o_O
no way is it going to out sell MW2, this is a TREYARCH CoD after all.

God I can't wait for Reach, I WANT TO USE FORGE WORLD!

Learned alot from MW2? Oh no I don't like the sound of that... Short SP, unbalanced MP, and overpriced map packs. Damn you for paying for them!!! Or... they mean they will go back to when CoD still was good?

now don't get me wrong. i hope that Black Ops turns out to be a good game. im just a little bit nervous (not to mention cautious) since the whole IW fallout.

also, i never really go by the words of a game producer raving about its own game. its a little like a rapper saying his own music is the best. it more seem like an insult to others than an actual compliment
