Seriously, he is the whole reason why gamers everyone are in bad blood with Activision. In all fairness, Activision itself does not make that bad of games, it's the damn polocy and evilness-ess of the friggin' CEO.

You know, a long long time ago I used to consider Activision my second favorite developer, and then when Blizzard got together with them it was a "oh boy!" moment. Now....MW2 did it for me, and if it wasn't for Blizzard being part of them I would never buy one of their games again. Now please please Activision, don't ruin my favorite company, I grew up with them! I love blizzard games, don't ruin Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2! Well, they already kinda did, as Starcraft 2 itself is fun, but Battlenet 2.0 is a horrible mess

I am AMAZED that this guy can be so BLATANT about calling it an "image problem". No. You have done wrong, the solution is to admit your shortcomings, fix them or do better next time.

Tippl blames much of the bad feeling on Activision's standing as the largest publisher around, saying that it's something that anyone in that position has to come to terms with.

Kotick's goal over the past 10 years has been - you couldn't make this up - "to take all the fun out of making video games." How? Why not he has very little creditability these days, a large amount of the public hate him, if everything he says has to be first run by PR then hes no longer suitable for the job, hes a liability.

My prediction eventually he will be either asked on the quiet to leave(along with a hefty pay off)or he will be openly removed and replaced with a more likeable figure head.

Step 1 - Stop backstabbing your own developers... Which helps with the second step, which is...
Step 2 - Start making games that don't suck again.
Step 3 - Make sure Kotick keeps his mouth shut in any public setting. I know you can't "fire" him, but at least make sure he keeps his trap closed so he doesn't come off as anymore of a giant douchebag than he already does.
Step 4 - Stop fucking over your costumers by removing things like dedicated servers and mod tools so you can extort people for paid crap.
Step 5 - Stop being greedy dicks and trying to inflate prices.

Tippl did say however that Activision could communicate better with the gamer community, but that for some people it would never be enough: "There are many things we can probably do better in the way we communicate with the communities so that we don't run the risk that certain things get pulled out of context and blown out of proportion."

"Now, can we do a better job from a PR and community management perspective? I think we can. We are focused on doing that, but you will always have a vocal minority that no matter what you do they're not going to be happy."
