Crysis 2. Man that first tank is brutal. One hit kill, I can't position myself with that type of movement in my own tank (though Dead Island has the same vehicle control, and I've gotten decent at that, so maybe I'll be better now).

call of duty games or shooter games that are on consoles, if im playing on pc i am pretty damn good at TF2.

And RTS games that start off pretty easy and a then get a little challenging, but by the last few missions you have about 5 minutes and your dead.

I'm generally quite good at any FPS I play, but when my mate brought in a portable CS 1.6 to LAN with at college, I got shunted by everyone... hmm.

Pretty much all of them, except RPGs, ecpecially RTSs, even though they are my second favourite genre after RPGs... the easy computer in Sins of a Solar Empire absolutely CRUSHES me.

Dark souls. I just feel so crushed every time I pick it up. I want to love it, but it won't love me back and I'm just awful at it.

Apparently Dead Island, I spend way too much time sitting on cars trying to smack the horde of zombies that I can't reach. x3

The age old question of whether we suck at a game because we don't play the genre, or we don't care for the genre because we suck at the game. I believe both affect us in some way. I don't play fps or fighting games ever, but I did in my youth and I was quite good at them then, but I'm sure I wouldn't stack up now. I can't think of any games that I outright suck at, I can typically handle my own at any genre, but I don't particularly excel at any of them either.
Had you read the OP i mentionned in my edit : which i posted after the first 4 posts , the name specific games .

( hurr durr reading is for losers i guyss :/)

I find i'm not horrible at any game but MW2 i could never go positive, I'd get the most kills but would die more than I killed. Also fighting games other than BLAZE-BLUE were I can't just use TAOKAKA.

Mortal Kombat (the new one...the old ones too actually)

I can not believe how bad I got my ass handed to me when I went online. Even against people with scores like 0-10 who just spammed one attack over and over again.

Pretty much every game. The only games I really have time and the financial means to play are ones with no clear ending (i.e. Sims, Warcraft, Minecraft). The games I've only beaten are the entire Paper Mario Series and Shadow the Hedgehog. The only access I have to other games are shooters (and I'm not even a big fan of those) that my boyfriend has. Also motion sickness is a very strong deterrent.

But, I keep trying damn it!

RTS. I love games like C&C, Dawn of War and the Total War series, but I wouldn't be able to beat someone at them if they were afk.

FPS is a bit up and down, but on the whole I'm decent enough that it doesn't really detract from the experience. Some days I'll play average, some days I'll dominate and others I'll go on for five minutes and realise that on that day I am destined to eat lead, exit the game and find something else to do for a while.

All racing games.
Doritos's Crash Course.
All fighting games.
Some puzzle games.

That's about it, I'm usually quite adaptive.

Tekken 6 online. When it's not the lag, it's a veteran player who can juggle his way to the moon and back. My only consolation is that I usually get the first hit.

2D fighters don't click for me at all, online or off. I would probably be able to improve if I tried, but they feel too stilted for me to really enjoy.

RTSs. Specific games include Age of Empires and Starcraft. I don't have much problem getting into the "build a civilization" thing, I like doing that so I do ok. Nor do I have a problem with using armies to take over the universe. I don't like that so much, but I'm reasonably able to make plans, assign resources and execute them, so I do all right.

My problem comes when I have to do both at once. To me, it seems as if I'm trying to play two completely different games, and I have a lot of trouble switching back and forth in real time. And because you can be attacked at any time, it's a situation where I can be forced to switch at any time.

So yeah, not so good at those. Unfortunately, my best friend is very good at them. I've played AoE games against him where we added two other computer players on Hard difficulty, and he had no trouble beating all of us together. It's one thing to be embarrassingly bad in front of strangers, but it's a complete new level of humiliation to be that bad in front of a friend. Plus, it means we can't play coop on a lot of fun games :(

The good news is that I am better at shooters than he is, so I have some redemption. I got within shouting distance of competitive level on L4D2 Versus when I played regularly, and he just couldn't deal with the ambush tactics. He also can't get through MW games without sniper-clearing everything before he moves, whereas I can go into the heat and come out the other side.

Fun, huh? You can win the first round against the spammers (i.e. when they actually vary their moves), but they're generally too hell-bent on winning to stay fair for the second round. Those fights are rare, though, at least in Tekken 6. Most people have moved on (the game was released in 2009), so the people remaining are mostly just obsessives with juggling abilities.

Well I'm not terribly good at anything, but I can't really think of any game I suck at.

...No wait, tekken. Fuck tekken.
Just play offline against ghosts. The game maintains its rhythm that way.
