Freelance Security.
Its just as fun and as stable as it sounds ¬_¬

Hopefully that'll change in a few months to a year. I'm planning to go into the games industry.
It's got a better health plan than pay-as-you-go insurance.

Though I'm 29 I find it hard to class myself as an Adult. Adults have stability and responsibilities and generally know how to take care of themselves, while I do not have any of those things.
You'd be surprised xD

I'm a seasonal zookeeper at a small zoo. I'm 23 and a recent graduate with a wildlife education degree and the goal of being a zookeeper until I can't do it anymore. This is my first real job within my career field and I couldn't be happier with the choice I've made. I'm also looking for part-time work at pet stores or vet clinics, but that's just for some extra income to build up my savings.

Right now I'm in college doing digital media. Specifically working in the areas of animation, 3D modelling, 2D and 3D design/advertising, sound engineering and web design.

I'm sure one of those things will land me a job someday ^_^

I study moral philosophy at the University of Gothenburg.
You mean Ethics? Cause I'd love to do something along those lines. I can probably blackmail my parents into financing my dream of becoming a classical philologist, but I've too much pride for that.
Eh, it's a wee bit more than just ethics, but fine, let's call it that. Honestly what I study doesn't translate well into "moral philosophy" OR "ethics", but that's because Sweden has a retarded classification system when it comes to philosophy.
Then again, I don't have to blackmail my parents, because in Sweden, studying doesn't cost a dime.
Except for the loans you take to support your living, etc (but you can always work at the same time).

I'm a senior data analyst and office manager for a logistics consultancy company.

And yes, the job is exactly as glamorous as it sounds!
Huh, weird...

I'm a Senior Data Analyst for a large UK charity, working and living in London =p. Doesn't pay as well as a private job would, but I like the feeling that I'm working towards something other then making someone above me some money, and I recommend working in charity sector to anyone. Also, the people are really laid back and I get to spend unfair amounts of time online. Like now for instance!

Also, I'm surprised that so many of you are unemployed... In my experience adult gamers tend to do pretty well for themselves, because lets be honest lads, most of us were geeks in school!
Some of us were not computer or math or science geeks, some of us liked Shakespeare, and history, and politics, and philosophy.
For people like me on that end of the spectrum, what we are geeky in has little to no job opportunities outside academia (to which there are a tonne of phds and very few spots to fill) or education.
By grade 12 in High School I was taking only classes of that sort: English, Banned Literature, World Politics, World History, Philosophy, and the like.
I'm trying to get my undergraduate for philosophy and history double major, and I was hoping to use that to get into Law School as both of those require analysis of issues and truth-conditions, as well as a tonne of reading and writing. However, I picked a University that is too hard for me and I was too stubborn to accept that. Now I'm in 4th year and I have 2.9 GPA (out of 4, and my school has no "bonus" marks for an A+ grade because they think that's ridiculous. some school they will give you a 4.33 if you go over 95% in a class). Law School requires 3.5 at bare minimum, but you really need a 3.7.
So yeah... I'm going to be a teacher it seems.
Don't worry, so will I.
For some of us would rather face economic uncertainty than give up what we love doing.
I study Philosophy and Literature at Uni. Job prospect is close to none (and yes, I am going for a PhD), yet I refuse to yeild. If I end up a paperpusher at the age of 35, but with my PhD, that's fine. I'd rather face that life of horror than knowing that I never dared to go for the live I really wanted.
Stay strong, bro. You only get one life. Please live it the way you want to live it, and not the way other people want you to live it because they are afraid to aim for their own dreams.

I'm currently taking my basics at a community college, preparing to get my EMT to hopefully become a paramedic.

I'm still kinda doing my transitional phase from High School to the Real World, and I really don't think I'll be able to survive with a boring job.

someone's got to look after the kids during the day after school.
It is true tho people look down on others for some jobs but fact is someone has to do it a janitor is just as important as a doctor in my eyes.
So after around a decade in medical school/internship/training, a doctor who (hur) spends many of their days saving people's lives is just as important as someone who needed very little experience/couldn't be bothered to work harder (I know people that couldn't be bothered and became Janitors, so don't worry, I'm not stereotyping there. :p ) and clears the bins for the main reason that no-one else wants to?
Mnyeh. -_-
Well besides the fact that not everyone has the time nor the money to be able to put forth to become a doctor, fact is it is the janitors who keep the hospitals in clean condition so that the hospital doesn't become so infested with germs and diseases that it is actually more dangerous to go to a hospital when sick than to stay home.

In my opinion almost every job is equally important in the grand scheme of things everything has it's place and if it had so little importance to people there wouldn't be a demand. Sure some are more obviously important but others have there place in the gears that are our society. For example the Garbage men and women keep our streets clean from disease and trash without them we would be wading in waste high trash to get anywhere. The mechanics who fix our cars make sure people like say those doctors from earlier get to there jobs so they can even help cure people in the first place.

Mind you there are a few jobs that are inherently less important like door to door salesman or telemarketers but even they have there place they help companies who don't have the funding or the popularity to get there products in stores get there product out to the public so they can slowly change there perception and perhaps expand.

People should have more pride in there work and take realize that everyone has a role to play and that when try and work hard at there job it makes a difference in the large scheme of things.
Well said.

I'm an environment artist a game studio. It's sort of a generalist artist job, and I model assets like architecture, props, basically things that aren't characters. I love my career and actually getting to make a living doing art, even if it means I work long hours and don't usually have time to actually play games. Though beer at work and an hour to play video games is enough for me, lol.

Well I'm a student, so I guess my government bursaries are mostly what funds my hobby. My part time job as a sales clerk pays for the rest. In about 3 years though I should be a history teacher so that will pretty much take care of everything.

I'm 24 and work as a therapeutic assistant in a behavioral health clinic. I'm gonna be in Physician's Assistant school pretty soon though. I was planning on going to med school, but then I met a bunch of PA students and actual PAs. And they get to make good money, help people, work in a medical field, and still have a life. Plus, the school period is much shorter. So I wasted six months studying for the MCAT, but oh well. Such is life.

I'm a newspaper photographer. I drive around and take photos, and while at times it can be pretty emotionally draining and confronting, there are plenty of worse jobs out there.
