Arri walked behind Eiravel, holding onto his armor to make sure that they didn't get separated. Even though Lucidas was in the front and had a flam in his hand to light up their way the tunnel was still very dark.
This place is... eerie. Its making me very nervous..
Eiravel looked back at Arri and gave her a reassuring nod.
"Knowing will not help you get more powerful though," Fredrick grimaces before turning back to him, "all of the runes were excavated years ago, nothing remains but hallowed halls...tainted by the runes they held..."
"We should pick up the pace before anyone tracks us, or gets attracted by the magic emitting from here," he grunts before adjusting his armour.
A lowly little messenger dares stand in our way? comes the hiss from the beneath the hood, or have you come to surrender and offer us your soul? the venomous hiss emits again.
Fuck you! growls Sammael from his horses back.
The hooded figure sighs deeply, and here I hoped this would be simple, oh well...
Sammael begins to gallop toward the figure but is stopped in his tracks by the figure's hand movement.
Several flames burst from his hands and encircle Sammael and his horse, which begins to panic flinging Sammael to the ground.
He grunts as he lands on his back, the flames still encroaching on him, slowly beginning to burn him. He yelps in pain as the flames snap over his body like chains killing him through intense heat.
The figure moves away from the prone dying man, uncaring.
Now where did they get to? he snarls into the rain.
Just trying to give an incentive to show how much of a bastard he is, and he's hunting us, which would make us more willing to run
Lucidas laughs and replies "Aha, I guess it was naive of me to think you leave relics in their original places. Although, in case you havent realised we mages arent exactly physically imposing... we rely on what we know.".
He then realises that the light he is creating isnt breaching the darkness as it naturally would and cautiously says "There is something wrong with the shadows in this place." as he increases the intensity of the ball of fire.
Stepping into the cool darkness of the cave, Korgan sighed, a small grin breaking on his face. Looking around, he spoke to no one in particular.
"It's good to be underground again, I have to say that I've missed it."
Even without Lucidas' handgeld flames Korgan would have easily been able to make his way around. Even though he had been above ground for a whole year, his senses still attuned themselves easily to the underground environment. Moving briskly past the other cautiously-moving members of the group, he gave a small chuckle when he saw Arri's hand clenched tightly around one of the straps of Eiravel's armour.
"Don't worry little Elfling, no harm will come to you here. You have to travel much further into the deep places of the world before you find the things that go bump in the dark."
Giving a hoarse chuckle, he continued ahead until he drew level with Lucidas. Narrowing his eyes and glancing sideways at the mage, Korgan grunted as he heard his comment.
"Huh, I can't feel anything here. Now that is odd... I should at least be able to feel the stone..."
He shifted his horned helm and pulled the round shield from his back, gripping Snaga's haft tightly.
Eiravel did not lose his purposeful walk even in the dark cave. He was the cutting image of calm and collected. He felt his princess' hand at his armor and knew he would willingly die protecting her. His right hand rested on his saber and his left swung in easy reach of his dirk.
Lucidas looked toward Krogan and replied "Hah, good to see a reasonable Dwarf listening to the warnings of an insane young Human Mage. I have to warn you though, if you carry on down this path I may be forced to go out of my way to help you when you need it.", he continued leading the group further into the darkness with no end in sight.
He asked "So we just keep on going forward? If we come to a fork in the path I say we go left... or right... no, wait... left.", he stroked his chin with a puzzled look upon his face as he pondered on things that had not yet came to pass.
Arri didn't respond to Korgan after he made his snide remark. Instead she ignored him, but after a few moments his words rang through Arri's head, and as a result she let go of Eiravel's armor.
I can protect myself. She thought while letting Eiravel walk a few paces ahead of her. My fathers lessons were not in vain. I'm more than capable of holding my own in a fight.
Eiravel felt Arri's hand slip from his armor, he almost whipped about in a fury of action but realized she must have resolved her self in these tunnels. She is growing up, one step at a time He thought to himself as he let his trained ears find her timid steps. He was aware of each persons distinct steps by now, certain that he would be able to discern any new arrivals.
"They show battles from our past," Fredrick sighs with a hint of longing in his voice, "and yours of course, but most of them were lost in the ravages of time."
He stops at one in particular, running his fingers over the dwarves and elves at peace in the stone.
"This world was once a simple place...but after the last war millennia ago, it has fallen to pieces..." he groans deeply wishing the world could be simple again, against all false hopes.
"I hate to interrupt the bonding, but there is a war going on outside of those caves. It's only a matter till it reaches us. Your the fucking guide, get us out of these damned tunnels."
"Clearly you've never heard that these tunnels are notorious have you?" Fredrick asks pulling a face at Eiravel.
"But your right...we should get going to try and lose our trail in the magic traces within the cave..." he grunts before moving closer to the tunnel mouth that leads further in the tunnels.
"Well? You were raring to go a second ago?" he asks lifting his eyebrow in the groups direction.
this is going to be annoying with Jak been banned, since I had planned to use him for a event in here =/ owell I'll just need to guess what he'd do...
Lucidas kept his gaze locked further on into the darkness, not once looking at the carvings.
he asked "Can we hurry the sight seeing up? We have to hurry up and get out of this tunnel so we can die gruesomely for our countries...", he sighed and waited for a reply or footsteps so he could continue through the tunnels.
Sorry about the wait, but my brain is trying to move out and it's freaking stopping me thinking really =/ I shall soldier on to stop this from dying however
"Fine then so you two stop moaning about it," barks Fredrick before leading the group down the tunnel on the left, an ever winding path stretches before them into the depths of the cave, and after a film of darkness, probably the centre of Dresha.
"Welcome to the ancient land mass of Dresha, one were magic was the main ruler of the world," Fredrick mumbles looking around the group.
apparently seeing basically the centre of the world doesn't warrant posting...I'll move on shall I...also please, PLEASE post if you haven't in a while or I will kill your character <.< now where was I...
The group breaks off into a offset room on the way down the spiralled pathway.
"Rest up here? OR would you rather keep moving down?" Fredrick asks raising his eyebrows in the small room.
"Cause if we're being chased we will here them and any magic they cast will be...useless shall I say," he grunts looking at the mages then behind them into the spiralling room.
"I...I'm for resting..." Alexia said, panting and with an almost dying flame in her hand. It looked like they'd been walking for days. At least, for her it did.
Erir realised that if they did encounter the enemy here he would be near useless but knew that if they would suffer from the loss of their magic more than he. He voiced his agreement to Fredrick.
Lucidas grins and replies "Hah, come on. I am up for a challenge, stay here let the weaker... err I mean smaller, why do I keep mixing those up? The smaller people rest, if we encounter resistance further ahead what good will we be tired? At least we will be rested if we fight here.".
Leaning against a wall his grin changes to a tiumphant smile as he realises he had just put forward the most logical point of his entire life.
