I don't think he should be above the rules just for those reasons

If he spammed or was abusive or said offensive things or was a twa* then he deserves to be banned just like anyone else

I....um......i think this is the most random lawsuit i've ever heard.

World Record perhaps?
More-so than the woman who sued McDonald's because she burned her crotch with coffee?

On topic: Yeah, it sucks that he has those medical issues, but its his own fault for acting like an ass.
Or she, you know, sued because they gave her coffee hot enough to cause third-degree burns when she spilled it on her pants without any warning labels whatsoever.

You need warning labels to not pour coffee on your genitals?

Please, go to post 324, and read the link I put there. It explains the case better than I can.

Freedom of speech isn't an inexorable right but a perogative. Abuse it, and it will be taken away because in doing so the powers at be would protect the freedoms of the people that your abusive speech tries to undermine.

Regardless of how admendment rights are moderated in a public context, though, the plantif must have signed some sort of TOU to be on the PSN, which expressly prohibited whatever he did which resulted in his ban. So, he should have been well aware of the consiquences to his actions. He has only himself to blame for his unsavory fate, and in suing I hope he gets a painful lesson in the harsh reality of life beyond his sheltered existance.

To get banned from a gaming network in the manner he did, he must a have been a real arsehole! My advice, buy an xbox, and use XBL. But keep your nasty comments to yourself!

These days, people will sue for anything. Nonetheless, if this really is causing him pain, I feel for him.

I thought freedom of speech didn't apply in forums. Last I checked, administrators could ban a person for whatever reason they please. Maybe it's different when the forum is owned and controlled by a large corporation (like Sony)?
