It will come out later for the PC Microsoft probably made it a "timed" exclusive haha. But yeah that is a very poor excuse, I thought it was gonna be a PC first kind of game and be ported to the 360. If you look at the earlier videos they show the game on a high end (at the time) computer.

Tell that to the PC sitting front of my couch. Oh yeah, burn.

I guess it's a good thing I was never interested in this game, since the chances of me getting it just hit 0.00%.

Lame, all I have to geme on is my PC. It already doesn't get enough games without them holding back some that would work well for it.

"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen," said a Microsoft spokesperson. "We ultimately realized that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive."

Now THAT is what you call "Bullshit-ing", I mean guys come on, sure a bafflingly large number of people may belive that, but the majority knows the real reason would be something like "We will not waste money making a game that we know dosen't look that great and then facing the problem of it getting pirated beacuse we know marketing like a dog knows the national anthem of Kiribati".
But still, guys, game developers, we all know how big a problem piracy is but the steps you've taken against it have been, out of lack of any other term, fucking stupid. The common counter-piracy mesures we see today are one of the following: DRM(wich only brings pain to consumers and thus sales while only humoring pirates), delay it for months(wich only makes potential buyers lose interest because other stuff comes out in that time, I'm looking at you Ubisoft) or just don't make the game at all(death of the platform inssues).THIS PEOPLE IS NOT THE WAY.

Funny, because according to that logic, intense story driven games would be perfect on the PC, while action oriented games that you can simply pick up and play would be better suited on the xbox 360.

It was Xbox exclusive from the start. I don't know why this is considered news now. It is annoying though, as I loved the Max Payne series and it'll be a cold day in hell before I own a 360.

I don't own any consoles other than the PC, so it's a little sad. Not that Alan Wake is a game I was dying to play, it's just that I see a new trend here to fight videogame piracy, and I fear that soon more and more developers will leave the PC in favour of Xbox and PS3. Sooner or later PC gamers will be left with MMO's, and all the other games will be made for consoles. It's sad, but I guess there's a point to it.
I'd be very surprised if FPS games ever leave the PC. But I see your point to a degree. There may be a time when only the most famous franchises only reach the PC.

Bullshit.
This is how i see it:
Intimacy of the PC = More immersion
Played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen = Better View and Graphics
Psychological action thriller need more immersion right? It sounds like a story driven game...

Ironic when you consider Micosoft were pimping Alan Wake as a reason people should upgrade to Vista and DirectX 10.

I'm a PC gamer personally, but my strategy is to buy used xbox 360 and ps3 consoles once the 8th generation is out so I can get them cheap, and then experience all the exclusives that I missed out on.

EDIT: Ah, I was wrong, as a guy says below, it was originally Vista exclusive..

Oh well, the 360 will finally have another exclusive, let's hope it's good.

Oh, and most PC gamers will certainly say "Oh, not on PC? Well fuck that game!!!" But secretly they wish they could play it.

It's really childish really, people who wish they could play an exclusive game that's not on their console bash it and pretend they don't care.
And if they genuinely don't care?

I've seen a few videos of the game and meh, it seems to me like another Alone in the Dark and we all know how that last game flopped.

Ubisoft's response to the bad controls were ruining the game, that they were surprised that people wanted good, tight controls never ceases to make me smile.

But yeah, I don't really care, never cared to begin with and still don't care.

They're right.

If ONLY there was a way to connect our PCs (if we so wished) to our TVs, perhaps plug in a gamepad if it was more comfortable, and sit back to play it "in the best way possible".

Ah well... maybe someone, somewhere, will begin to develop these technological advancements - the likes of which my brain can hardly comprehend!

Were you violated by a computer at a young age?

You sound like you've got some issues.

Douchebags have been abandoning the pc for ages, ever since fable 2. Hope microsoft staff all perish in a fiery ball of death for this.
I can't honestly think of anything Microsoft quarantined onto the 360 that I actually cared about, or was even good. Fable 2? Halo 3? Are you kidding me? If that's the "quality" and "experience" that Microsoft wants to keep on the console, then I don't see what the fuss is. The fact that Microsoft feels that it'd be "best played on the couch" and that it's not a game "intimate" (they're words) for the PC probably means "yeah...we dropped the ball and this game will only be liked by consoletards that just don't know better.

Even Microsoft can't denny what shit Vista was and how underwhelming and pointless Games for Windows still is. But let's do like MIcrosoft and forget Vista ever happened.

I would think that a psychological thriller would be MORE suited to the PC than the 360 due to the more "Intimate nature".

There's already a thread about this, and it's been recently posted in.
Please try to use the search bar.

It's been said many a time before. What gets posted in the News section IS NOT INFLUENCED BY THE FORUMS. A lot of people don't read all the forums, if any, and get their news from the main site. Stop pointing it out.

Yes the reason for why is a bit silly, but come on. I would rather have a 360 exclusive than a half-assed PC port and you know that it would have been just a half-assed PC port had it been on PC. It's not much to get upset about. Well, to me at least because I have a 360.
