I personally loved it, though yeah it takes FOREVER to actually get into the game. But yeah the atmosphere, the weapons and the xenos hot damn it's a dream come true. So far complain it connecting. Though at least they will be putting dedicated servers in retail and hey this is still the BETA version that those MLG players were playing before. Regardless I'm loving it.

well, i'm downloading the PC demo now, can't wait to play it, so far it's the only game i am truly interested about currently.
also, funny story, i told my mate (who is a BIG PS3 fan) that i pre-ordered the game on my laptop and he said "i might get it, but it costs too much right now for PS3" and i said "i got it for around 25 pounds" and the egg was all over his face.

It takes ages to get a game going if you've not got 7 friends hanging about. I went off and made a cup of tea, and had a shower before I got my first game in.
The Marine is surprisingly able to hold his own, I was the only marine in one game and came a decent 3rd, which considering I was surrounded by aliens and predators galore was pretty good.
The alien is pretty intuitive, it takes a round or two to get used to the style, but you'll soon be zooming around walls and stick tails through abdomens.
As for the Pred. Well he can tear your head off and take the spine, so that's 'nuf said.

It seems that the matching code for the PC version is screwed-up, because I can't connect to a single game.
On the 360 though, it's working pretty well. It's by no means amazing, but it much better than I thought. It gives you a wonderful feeling of playing as your race, and becomes a genuinely different game depending on which one you choose. Pick a marine and you're constantly super-tense, every movement inducing chronic paranoia and randomly-fired bullets. Play as an alien, however, and the game turns from an FPS into something fairly unique, hunting down targets and feeling exactly like the single-minded killing-machine shown in the movies.
In fact, I really enjoyed the experience of being an alien, the stealth-based glass-cannon element where if you get the drop on someone you're almost guaranteed a quick nibble on their brains, but a single slip-up will leave you sprayed all over the nearest wall. The controls are, at the moment, a bit janky, but the philosophy of playing like an alien is all there - if you're on the floor, you're doing it wrong. Stick to the walls and ceilings.

So is this availble int he UK for 360? I may jump on my xbox and downloa dit after watching apocolyse lane.
Just so you know, it takes about 10-20 minutes to find a game. It's incredibly fun once you do, and it runs well with few lag or disconnect issues. It just takes a hell of a long time to find a lobby. I think its a great game, but unless they do some serious fixing, I ain't buyin' it.Journeythroughhell said:
