iv been playing it for a hour now and i love it, though im still trying to work out if theres any team play involved, a few time people worked together as in preds with preds and aliens with aliens, those games were awesome but the FFA people attacking everything kinda messed up the game for me.

This game mode is just deathmatch, there is a team deathmatch mode as well

I was able to get a few games pretty quickly on the PC version. It looks rather pretty but it feels VERY sluggish, well at least the Marine does. Maybe he has a bad leg.

Come on people, it's Alien Versus Predator, how can anybody not care?

Just so you know, it takes about 10-20 minutes to find a game. It's incredibly fun once you do, and it runs well with few lag or disconnect issues. It just takes a hell of a long time to find a lobby. I think its a great game, but unless they do some serious fixing, I ain't buyin' it.

Well as long as you're getting the PC version they are releasing it with Dedicated Servers so there's none of this matchmaking nonsense.

Well played a bit more of the demo and gotta say, the demo killed my hopes for a good game.
The gameplay feels okay. But really, there's something missing.

No crouching, the HUD of the predator looks way to busy, walking around just feels slow, turning around on the PC feels dead wrong, fucking crouch button please!, take away motion blur makes me feel sick or at least an option to turn it off, CROUCH BUTTON!, better matchmaking, stupid mics are turned on for default for some reason, CROUCH BUTTON!, singleplayer demo NOW and for godsake get a fucking crouch button.

One big pile of "MEH". Had hopes for this game.

Just got it. It's... sigh. The balancing is definitely off. The grab move is a one-hit-kill from behind and the Marines' sensor is just ridiculous given that they can just shoot randomly where they see the dots and kill stuff. The Alien is definitely the most overpowered species given that they can ALWAYS see where EVERYONE is (Even if a Predator is cloaked), and if there's a predator and two Aliens, the predator will grabmove one, then the alien will grabmove the predator. The finished product better not be like this, or I'm not buying it.

Indeed it is but iv played in a few games where the aliens dont kill aliens and preds down kill preds, those games were far more fun than the FFA gameplay.

It's alright. I've decided that I can't play the alien for shit on the 360 though.

My first game I spawned in as Marine... and immediately, I mean IMMEDIATELY as in not even touched the thumbsticks yet, get shanked from behind by a Predator. Normally, something like this would just piss me the fuck right off. But this is AvP we're talking about here. That sort of thing is supposed to happen to the lowly and oh-so vulnerable Marine.

My main issue is actually with the Predator and Alien controls, I'm not a big fan of "Bumper Combat". That's what triggers are for. Marine's Flashlight isn't much help, but at least you don't have to worry about it giving your position away, right?

I just tried it and I'm a little underwhelmed. The only real standout thing I noticed is the sound effects. They were pretty great.

I'm not very good at judging a multiplayer fps game's worth, to be honest, as someone weened on classic PC games.

My little brother tried the demo and hated it. I liked it but I couldn't get a kill as an Alien, I imagine it would've been easier if the 7 marines I was facing actually understood the concept of a deathmatch instead of ganging up on me. I'll try it again later, probably will buy the game, but not immediately.

Edit: after having played a few matches all I can say is GODDAMN YOU REBELLION!!! My bank account is small enough with out buying a new game and now this! Why can't all these games stagger their release dates? *starts sobbing gently* Its just not fair!*curls up into fetal position*

It was awesome! It keeps the feel of the original while also heavily enhancing performance and feel. The characters are well designed and the kills are brutal.

Yeah, there aren't classes anymore. Although classes were added in AvP 2 (which was made by Monolith), the original AvP didn't have classes, or even different skins so it's closer to that.

A crouch button would be a waste of time; the marine can't stay still long enough to need it, the predator would only need it if he's sniping with the plasmacaster (the shoulder-cannon) and there's a pipe or something he wants to shoot under and the alien's on all-fours constantly (unless attacking) which I enjoy; smaller target profile so they're harder to hit.

Really, the only problem I have with the demo is the match-making system; the full game's dedicated servers'll fix that and I will thoroughly enjoy the game. Well I also don't like the mics-always-on-in-lobby thing too, but I can just take my headphones off until the game starts loading.

I had trouble finding a game, but I eventually got one when friends joined in. The game was fun, but sadly I'm really bad at it. Ah well that's what practice is for.
