Confirmed in 2006, please god let it live up to my hopes and not be outdated.
I want outdated, I want it to be so outdated it plays like Alien Resurrection on the PS1 (which was amazing).

Non of this regenerating health enemies that die in one hit malarky. Make the Aliens tough, the bullets hard to find and face huggers the most panic inducing opponent since the poison head crab zombie.

Lets just hope its not just a run and gun and those Xenomorphs take more than 4 bullets to kill.
Eh, I seriously doubt making the enemies bullet spongey would be a good design choice. Now, say throwing dozens of the bastards at you at once, having massive ambushes, just looking down a hallway and seeing a mass of more xenomorphs than you can count sprinting and crawling towards you? That's what I think of when I think of Aliens, and I REALLY hope that's the sort of expierience I ope this game delivers...since the most recent AVP failed at that very thing.

The demo for the last game just seemed so shit, but this trailer really seemed to capture the spirit of Aliens so well... the only thing is I'm a little concerned that all the marines dying seemed to be generic scripted 'dragged off into a vent' sequences that kinda suck. Here's holding out hope that they introduce a bit more creativity into the formula than that. Been a long time since the Alien/Aliens IP had a solid addition, really. Here's hoping this break that :)

Man I just had a complete fan-gasm.

This looks brilliant but it will hinge on how deadly the xenomorphs are. If you end up feeling like a character in a COD game and not an inferior organism with a lack of firepower and ammo then the game will fall completely flat.

I do hope this game takes the survival horror route.
This game is going to need a section where you lose your gun, now that would be terrifying.

If only to get across the point that bullets are the only thing that's stopping you from getting face raped.
Actually, I think it would be much better if ammo was just limited :)

I remember watching the first three on VHS and then going to see the fourth movie at the cinema with my father, all in the same day. Good times. I wish they had changed the gun sounds though. It was somewhat cool when the movie was old and all, but now it just sounds...old. At least update it so it didn't sound so lack of bass.

And yes, I know real gunshots sound nothing like they do in movies/games, but they do sound pure orgasmic in movies/games.

Oh I so want this game to be good. Judging from this trailer though it looks like it might be. But I cannot and will not get my hopes up too much or I will be SORELY dissapointed if the game turns out to be crap.

Kinda just looks like DOOM 3 to be honest. Except that at least Doom 3 had aspirations of being like System Shock in terms of story and atmosphere. This just looks like it's trying to be Doom 3 with aliens. With even less attention to story or atmosphere, making it two steps down from System Shock.

Maybe that's just me being cynical though. Still, the Aliens movie was 80% tense build-up, 20% running around shooting up the place. Which is what made it good. This game looks to be the complete opposite.

The game looks pretty good --- but people who can't spell "battalion" don't inspire me as bringing a lot of critical military expertise to the table.

a coop shooter is cool (and i know gearbox likes to make them)
but does anyone else think this would be better as a more solitary survival horror shooter?

Your avatar kinda gives it away :).

This looks pretty damn cool I must say. I wonder how they'll do Marine vs Xenomorph multiplayer though.

Looks nice, I just hope that all that flashing isn't in the game. Don't fancy having a seizure 2 minutes in to it.

I can see where you're coming from, but the sound of that plasma rifle dumping ammo gave me nerd chills. Therefore, I would say don't change the sound just refine it.

O.T. An immersive, fighting against the odds, oh my god we're not gonna make it, style game would warm my cold, cold cynical heart.

Here's hoping.

I'm not the biggest Alien fanboy in the world, however I appreciate the series enough to be quite excited, especially after that trailer.

That trailer is the greatest Aliens game ever made to date. And it's just the trailer.
Disagree. I still think the first Alien Vs Predator on PC is one of the greatest games to be spawned into existence. Hard as all hell, scary as it should be....and the most frenetic fantastic multiplayer ever.

But Colonial Marines look pretty damn sweet too. I just doubt it will be frenetic enough. I HOPE, but I doubt.

Excuse me while I squeal with joy over this trailer. I'll admit it does look very, very good - now that Borderlands 2 is close to release, maybe this will expedite the release of A:CM.

If the game is as good as it looks, perhaps Gearbox can be persuaded to try their hand at a standalone Predator game.
