All star cross-platform super brawl!

It's a parellel universe where spelling doesn't count and everyone loves one another. Every game publisher on the planet has decided "Let's make a game that includes every major character from every major game series ever made!"

The result? Well that's what we're here to find...

This is essentially a Super Smash Bros game, but it features characters from every major series that has, in one way or another, left a powerful dent or legacy in the gaming community.

But who's going to fight? And where are they going to be fighting?

Here's a list of who I thought of (as un-biased as possible), and also the arena from the series that the character brings with him/her:

Please note that just because I've added these fighters doesn't mean that they can't be omitted/edited. Where I haven't put levels in because I couldn't pick a single one I'd choose over the others.

Rules for submitting fighters:
You have to come up with a level with the character (be as intricate as you like; hazards, platforms etc)
You have to justify your character's choice - basically prove that they have to have left a sufficient impact on the gaming community
And finally if you want you can come up with any special moves or finishers or anything like that.

At the moment I'm not too keen on allowing more than one character from each series (Mario is allowed but no Luigi) but if you can justify it, I'm fine with sticking another one in there.

And yes! The game will be rated M.

I'm not putting Tetris or Pac-man or Pong in there because they would be useless characters - instead I propose they be items you can pick up and use (they had these in Brawl, I can't remember the name of the item).

In light of this, there is a new list for these characters.
This also includes characters from THE SAME GAME as mentioned before - e.g; you could have Metal Gear Rex as a character because it's just too awesome for words and because Solid Snake is representing the Metal Gear series.
Again, please be precise over their place in this MEGA SUPER AWESOME GAME because otherwise I shall merely cast a blind eye towards your comments and stick them into this list. If you want a character to be in this specific list, then please elaborate over what the character does when he/she is activated:

1st edit: Wow I forgot Samus. I also put in Scorpion because he's my favourite from the MK series. GET OVER HERE! Classic.
On this edit I deemed that the series' encompassing BioShock, Left 4 Dead, Ratchet and Clank, James Bond, Mass Effect (because of what BioWare has given to gaming), Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Fallout are worthy of the list.

2nd edit: a few locations filled in and some new characters including God Of War, Mega Man, Little Big Planet, Resident Evil, Star Wars Games, Naughty Dog (Crash, Jak, Drake), Game And Watch, Commander Keen, TMNT. Phew...

3rd edit: Massive edit - been away for a while, didn't realise the thread had taken off so well. Few more characters put in, but can I ask why there are so many human characters? Please read the Edit concerning Naughty Dog - No Jak or Drake so long as Crash Bandicoot 3 existed. Best platformer on the PSone. The reason why I didn't want to put GTA in was because I couldn't think what character was the best. Going with Vercetti at the moment. I put something in to annoy the Nintendo fanboys, see if you can spot it.
The NEW LIST has been added.

4th edit: some new maps, though I can't think of the ones that are left because I have no idea where they come from.

I'd put in Commander Shepard, his arena could be the Citadel Council Chambers.

The arena for Gordon Freeman, I think, should be the Black Mesa teat chamber.

EDIT:Sorry, just saw the rules. Not sure if Mass Effect has been out long enough to really have an effect on gaming, but it's my favorite game, so...

I would have to add in Derrick Cole, just because I'm a Breakdown fanatic.

EDIT: And I say until Duke Nukem Forever comes out, we remove him from the list.

EDIT 2: You could also add the marine from Doom, for obvious reasons. His level could be the Cyberdemon's arena from the end of Doom 3, and his final move would obviously be the BFG.

Snake's level should be the top of Outer Haven during the battle at the end of MGS4. RAY's and the battleship are fighting in the background.
I would add Leon Kennedy. I think the Resident Evil series has made a significant impact in the survival horror genre. His level would be the place where you fight Lord Saddler. His finishing move would be the special rocket launcher.

Also, how about we make the game "M"?
Like the characters can die. not get knocked around like ragdolls.

For example, Samus's "Zero Laser" would slowly disintegrate the target.

I just realized that if Rare hadn't moved to microsoft, we would actually most likely have Banjo and Kazooie in the SSB games, that's too bad, I think they would be rather cool to play.

James Bond - "The Complex" arena in multiplayer from goldeneye.

I need no justification for this character because it is Bond, for he was spawned from the lapelles of Gods tuxedo. The area is just my favorite one in the game, but I am also pretty partial to the facility (toilet exploding upwards to work the same as a spring would be pretty funny)

The Fallout dude, not the main character who you play as because that would be too ambiguous.

The map would be the top of Rivet City. Watch out for nuclear explosions and a pissed off liberty prime.

Although Fallout 3 isn't revolutionary, the other Fallouts took big leaps into open-world RPG's.
Special Moves:
B: 10mm Pistol
Side B: Super Sledge
Down B: Radiate a small area around him doing damage to people adjacent to you.
Super Smash: FAT MAN!

Ratchet and Clank - Planet Koros

Such a huge hit, I think it's the #1 PS3 title? Not sure. Ratchet and Clank are awesome, though, and I feel they deserve to be on the list.

Smoker - No Mercy rooftops

L4D's a huge hit, and currently has the #1 spot for sales on STEAM. The smoker is my favorite baddie, and I feel he's the least overpowered of the bunch. If I was playing a L4D fighting game, I would pick the Smoker.

Goemon - Sasuke's Tree

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon is often in the top 5 for best N64 games, and he's just such a loveable character. We haven't seen any ports since Mystical Ninja because it wasn't received well e nough in the U.S.

I know Jack's the main guy and all but how about the Big Daddy instead? I mean there's more moves to play around with and the arena could be the Little Sister Sanctuary - purely because it's the creepiest backdrop in the game. Special move - assuming it's a bouncer - a one-hit instant kill where he grabs a player and shoves that drill in them. Splash damage when he hurls the body to the floor.

Such a huge hit, I think it's the #1 PS3 title? Not sure. Ratchet and Clank are awesome, though, and I feel they deserve to be on the list.

Smoker - No Mercy rooftops

L4D's a huge hit, and currently has the #1 spot for sales on STEAM. The smoker is my favorite baddie, and I feel he's the least overpowered of the bunch. If I was playing a L4D fighting game, I would pick the Smoker.

Or, it could be a "L4D" character, and upon starting a match you get a random one of the three. If the game had mechanics like SSBB, then after the player dies, it could randomize it again?

Beat me to it. What I'm thinking, though, is get rid of the boomer (how would that even work?) and put in a nerfed tank in his place. That way, you get 3 different play styles out of it:Smoker for long range, hunter for speed, Tank for melee.

Mr. Game and Watch was one of the first characters to have his own games on a portable gaming device.

He can just have the moves he already has in Smash but I reckon his super should be changed. He could jump in a little boat with oars (so he can move around) as water rises from the bottom of the stage, any characters underwater now float and can swim around up and down but cannot perform any smash moves. The giant Octapuss comes out from the right or left side of the stage and attacks any players still underwater with it's tentacles. If any of the other players can knock Mr. GaW out of the boat the super will end and the water level will fall.

You didn't really just say Kirby was the first to use an enemy ability, did you? I mean, unless 1992 (Kirby's first appearance) comes before 1987 (Mega Man's first appearance), in which case I need to wake the hell up. I'm just saying.

Conker should be there, and his level should be the bar where he gets drunk at the start of the game.

Cloud's level should be the Northern Crater

Scorpion's level should be the dark temple (you know, with the dark priest in the background from MK1)

Spyro (I don't really know what his level should be)

The Prince (SoT trilogy) should be in there somewhere.

Crash Bandicoot and/or Jak should probably make the list.

Darth Revan would be a good addition, he could be on top of the Ebon Hawk (a la the Corneria level from SSBM)

One of the ninja turtles (I nominate Raph) at the technodrome.

EDIT: I thought of a couple more, Ico in the castle obviously, Jade from Beyond Good and Evil and a few of the dudes from the marvel universe would hurt either.

Of course, maybe Commander Keen is not the most critical of gaming characters in history, but I think he is both recognizable and well known enough to be worth mentioning.
