Better Red than Dead

So, as my life as a university student continues to crawl ahead another week, I noticed that my Pokewalker had gone missing. Now I never valued the thing too much, just wearing it to get items and see how many steps I've taken, but I was a little annoyed when I discovered it at the bottom of my washing machine.

As I pulled the probably dead thing out to dry, I remembered when I was just getting into trading cards in middle school. It was during the brief Magic the Gathering craze in my hometown and I got sucked in. In anycase, a foiled card (you know, the shiny ones :p) went through the wash.

So Escapist, what have you washed up?

It is usually your own damn fault when it happens (I get lazy and forget to empty my pockets) and as a result you lose something. Was it valuable? Was it a trinket? Did it have sentimental value?

Discuss!

[sub][sub]Man, I haven't made my own thread in a while. The happiness one doesn't really count, that was a response thread.[/sub][/sub]

I've accidentally had pens, change, dollar bills and several receipts go through the wash. Had many pairs of pants ruined.

I never accidentally wash my things. My dad and brothers on the other hand keep leaving crap in their pockets. Change, bills, wallets, possibly a pack of gum once. It's not very surprising that they never organize their stuff around the house either. Crap lying everywhere. At least I can keep all my stuff in my room.

I've had scraps of paper with important phone numbers and money destroyed in the wash. Other than that I'm usually pretty good with this sort of thang.

Uh...nothing. I don't think I ever unintentionally washed something other than some pocket change.

I have a spare Pokewalker...

I left my USB adapter in my pocket and it went through the wash, it didn't hurt it at all.

I actually accidentally washed my mobile phone once. I don't know how I managed that one. I must have been *really* tired that night and just threw my jeans into the wash with the rest of the load.
Yeah, it was toast. Had to get a new one. :p Beyond that though, nothing more than pocket change and the occasional pen/cil.

I've destroyed a couple of USBs in the wash, because I forget to take them out. Money is usually fine, since Aussie bills are plastic. But sometimes they fall out of my pocket and get lost. Which is a little annoying. And I've lost a few rings in the wash too, because I take them off to wash my hands, and then forget I've put them in my pocket.

All of my Yu-gi-oh cards were in one of my pockets some years ago. They were in a plastic bag, so it weren't fatality, but still I was sad.

I've only once washed something. Change.

My ex girlfriend however put my passport through the wash. It was in the pocet of a pair of pants that I'd laid out for work the next day (I needed the passport at work) and went to bed. She put a load of washing on and put those pants in thinking I'd left them out for no reason.

It's still usable, but the microchip inside is busted.

Edit: Does passport win?

I need a new one. I heard they were restricted to one walker per game. Is it true?
I thought you could pair a bunch up per each game, but only have one registered at a time, meaning if you use a new one, the record of the old one will be gone.

I'm not sure, that's just what my gut tells me.

I've washed a couple of cell phones.

My job being what it is, I tend to leave Sharpies in the pockets of my aprons... and I find a lot of washed money in clothing because I forget I shoved it into my pocket.

The weirdest thing I've ever seen come out of the wash was a pair of headphones. My roommate left her Skullcandy headphones in the pocket of her jeans, and they got washed. Came out working, so no big there.
