Probably Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus, but I can't remember for sure.

I do remember that I was very upset when I finished it, though, because I hadn't saved enough mudokons, and Abe died. I think I may have cried. I was very young at the time.

I remember it pretty vividly. Illusion of Time (Gaia in the US, I believe).

It was actually a bit of a mindscrew for me. I was less than ten years old, and from Norway to boot (That is, I could barely read or understand English), and the game is mildly scary, at least I thought so. But I have issues with death and the likes; whenever I found skeletons of in-game characters, I got nauseus and afraid.

Disney's Donald Duck PK [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/index.html?curid=5715857] was a great starter's game on the PS2 for me, considering it wasn't very difficult, the weak spots of the enemies were more obvious than in a Resident Evil-game and it featured a cartoon-character as the PC, which was great for my 8 year-old, childish mind.

I thought it was great, so reading all the reviews for it was quite shocking/hilarious.

i think the first game i beat that stands out in my memory was The Legend of Zelda. yeah there were others, but Zelda was so epic at the time, it really felt like i accomplished something. when my friend bought Zelda, we stayed in his basement playing for a full week straight (only taking breaks to eat and sleep).

I will go with Super Mario Bros in the NES, just because before that there weren't any games that could be beaten...

The original Streets of Rage - think I was 7. That was a good day.
Strangely enough, same here. I beat it with my dad until the last level, when we answered the final boss's question differently and my dad took me out.

It was probably TMNT: Turtles in Time. I can't really remember though.

However, I got Legend of Zelda on the Wii shop and holy mother of god is it hard. It took me forever to just find the first dungeon, never mind actually beating it.
