i think the first game i beat that stands out in my memory was The Legend of Zelda. yeah there were others, but Zelda was so epic at the time, it really felt like i accomplished something. when my friend bought Zelda, we stayed in his basement playing for a full week straight (only taking breaks to eat and sleep).

Strangely enough, same here. I beat it with my dad until the last level, when we answered the final boss's question differently and my dad took me out.

It was probably TMNT: Turtles in Time. I can't really remember though.

However, I got Legend of Zelda on the Wii shop and holy mother of god is it hard. It took me forever to just find the first dungeon, never mind actually beating it.
