I believe that Dragon Age Origins and NWN 1 shouldnt have gotten their awful sequels, they deserved better. I would have included Kotor 1 with it's sequel but it wasn't actually that bad, just needed a bit of fixing up =/
But NWN2 was absolutely great :| (I actually force myself to play the first one, as it was nothing like the games Bioware was doing since then).

Seriously, why did they need to make a second one?
They seemed utterly content with updating via DLC before hand.
So why couldn't they just have done that instead?
Besides i liked LBP 1 and didn't like LBP 2.
The changes made upon LBP1 were pretty massive, in such a way that absolutely every element in the game got a revamp right down to the basics. If you look at the finer details in the new create mode you'd see that it would have been a pretty momentous task to change all of it through mere updates.

The dislike for LBP2 is probably due to all the gimmicky levels. I only started playing LBP2 very recently because we're finally starting to see some decent levels that aren't just silly retro-clones of things. If you still own the game keep an eye out because some of the levels that are starting to pop up are absolutely amazing.

Oh and yeah LBP2's story mode sucks :p It's mostly just as showcase for new things ~

oh god prepare for a list of every game ever..there are so many people who are close to having "phobia's" for sequels/add ons, so prepare to see every game listed ever.

OT: If i was to really really really not want a second game..

objectively from TFU2, as the story had ended and they twisted its arm in such a bad way that star wars now has a permanent indian burn from it.

Assassin's creed.

lolololololol get it?

Everybody needed to find just one reason to hate AC1. The repetitiveness.
We all thought that the assassin's creed franchise would never work itself out of that mess, that it would just float away and be forgotten.

Then Ubisoft hit the gaming industry like a fucking asteroid.

Edit: I apologize if this post seemed at all pretentious or douchey too you. I've been awake for over 20 hours, and I guess it's effecting my ability to stop myself from being a douche.

Yeah, that's probably where my hatred of LBP2 came from, i mean, i liked the changes, but it didn't capture the spark that the first game had.
But i might see what new levels have popped up.
Haven't been on it in a while.
And what is it with the PS3 and user-generated content?
Infamous 2 has it now.

Portal, dont get me wrong portal 2 was good but i just think portal was and should have been a stand alone thing

im not sure about Bioshock, its a game where i dont care too much about having seaquals or not, i mean Bioshock 2 was good but not amazing however that doesnt mean that bioshock shouldnt havnt gotten a seaqual and tbh Infinite looks amazing

It is a bit dude, go to sleep :p

OT:

I honestly think that Crysis should have stayed stand alone.

I would say any Kingdom Hearts game after the first sequel. I love that franchise so much, it breaks my heart to see Square Enix whore it out continually. Oh, and Portal. Not a joke, the first game was damn near perfect in all aspects but the second just felt unnecessary and bloated. I suppose it doesn't help that Wheatley rather spoiled it for me.

Although I'm glad that It did at first.
I don't think Halo should have got sequels.
Halo 2 and 3 drew the series to a logical conclusion.

But now with Reach, ODST, Wars and another 3 on the way.
It doesnt need this. It should have ended with at the least 1 and at the most 3 and gone down in history.

I am going to have to say Bioshock 2 as well. Bioshock 2 was definitely made for the money seeing as Bioshock 1 had no sequel hook, and your character was what was considered to be the coolest character in the game at the time, but at least it was a good game.
God of War, Prince of Persia, Halo, in fact many beloved franchises are like Bioshock 2, good games but wholly unnecessary to the story at the time.

I think I just won
So you're saying that Duke Nukem Time to Kill shouldn't have existed? Or Land of the Babes?

OT: Call of Duty 4, the perks in the following sequels just destroyed balance and were a modders playground.

Planescape Torment. This shouldn't have a sequel, a remake ... maybe, but not a sequel.

Super Smash Bros.
Don't get me wrong I have a great time playing Melee and Brawl with my friends it just doesn't feel the same. They should have made a new game series called "Super Mega Battle with an Ungodly Amount of Characters" and the sequel called "Super Mega Battle with an Ungodly Amount of Characters now with a Story."

It's probably been said at least fifty times by now, but BioShock. The sequel WAS a good game, and I really like the multiplayer, but it was nowhere near as good as the original, and it seemed to kind of spoil the feel of the first game if you play the second. That may just be me though.
And Halo. That definitely shouldn't have became a franchise, it was perfectly fine on it's own, and the others just weren't very good in my opinion.
Aand Fable. The first Fable was a great game, Fable 2 was very meh, Fable 3 was awful. Ol' Pete's an ambitious guy, I'm sure he could start a new game that isn't Fable. Black & White 3 would be nice.

Modern Warfare 1, I wouldn't say it was amazing, but it was verging on greatness and a sequel should've been fantastic...instead it just stagnated.

Also, the Mass Effect trilogy, I would like to see the universe expanded upon in other games, but I just can't shake the feeling that it would go horribly wrong, especially with EA in charge. Also, turning Mass Effect into a franchise would ultimately lead to a canonical Shepard being defined, which would ruin part of the appeal of the main games.

And as much as I'm excited for it, I really think Star Wars: The Old Republic should've been saved until after the release of a KotOR III. If KotOR III is ever released, it would lose impact because we already know what ultimately happens.
