This is mostly for closure, because me and dad have been racking our brains around this for a while and can't think of anyone. Allow me to explain.

My dad has an idea for a movie, WWII, called "It's Always Been All About the Money" (Working Title).

Basically we just have characters, and we're going to make the story from that. There are five so far.

Ed Asner we think would be perfect for the billionaire... That's pretty much it, that's his personality, his drive, everything. He wants a bunch of patents, I don't know, it's all Dad's thing. He wants to know about all their experiments, he wants all the money, all the credit, none of the work. He wants all the files brought in, in tact, and he doesn't want to have to do anything, or pay anyone to do anything more than bare minimum.

Stephen Colbert as the millionaire protegee. He wants to be the man in charge, and he doesn't care what he has to do. He's not really working against the billionaire though, he's actually doing what the billionaire wants, using all the connections he can, and being the frontman.

Pierce Brosnan was someone a person brought up. Dad says he'd be good for the British soldier who the protegee uses. He's right high ranking, bribable, knows Churchill too. A bit pushed to the outside, jealousy, or lost command, or something (I'm getting this all as dad talks).

Woddy Allen may be the closest thing to "good" guy, or at least, the main character. He's the billionaire's secretary of 50 years. He wants all the right things done, he wants the Jews freed and he wants the war over, but it's not happening. We basically get things told through his perspective, I think.

And then there's the character we don't have an actor for. He's the guy who, it doesn't matter what rank he is, he commands everyone, he can be a bloody private, he just waves his gun at people like he's bored of the war. He has a personality that's just entitled to be in control, or as dad says it "He's the kinda guy that would go into the restaurant and order something, and not be expecting a bill. And they wouldn't give him a bill either." Not really intimidating in look, or personality. Intimidating in a way that's just oh-so nonchalant. He yells at nobody, he just dominates.

Who can play that last guy. Oh, and opinions. I'm sure dad'll find some interesting viewpoints here.
Ryan Reynolds, he's very non-chalant.

Hmm. Too bad he's getting a little old and a little heavy, sounds like a perfect fit for Michael Madsen.

How come no one has said Christopher Walken? He can play any role and do it good! I think he'd work as the Highest Ranking Corporate Scum Bag who wants to make money after the war! And I have a perfect title:

For Nathan Fillion, look up the show "Firefly". And for Bruce Campbell, look up the Army of Darkness movies. I think.

Anyway, good luck with the movie!

Liam Neeson: Dad says he's too recent, and he cares too much. He likes Liam, but just off by inches.

Denzel: Same thing for Denzel as Samuel. Both are pretty much on the money, but it's 1944-45. Just might hurt the history, I think is it.

DiCaprio: He's the kind of smart that dad wants, but not scary or fierce enough. DiCaprio isn't quite enough of a "man's man". He's someone who you could tell to get out of the way, even if he didn't.

Bruce Willis: Too stereotyped for the role. Dad said he'd feel bad about having him play this kind of person again.

Well, Bruce Campbell has played serious parts and has that voice that can command respect.

As for Nathan Fillion, in Firefly he played a Captain of the Browncoats which were the side that was rebelling against the Alliance that wanted to restrict the freedoms of the entire system and have people under their control. While they lost the war, the system remained the same and Malcom Reynolds - Nathan Fillion's character - went on to be a mercenary for hire as he does odd jobs that involve anything aside from murder.

Malcom Reynolds was a sarcastic character but would easily become no-nonsense when things got serious or his crew was in danger. He'd kill anyone that would put his crew in danger. In fact, in the first episode he kills a man that held one of his crew hostage to escape the ship. Just walked on by and shot him in the head. He'd also easily dump you into space if you were slowing them down as Reavers chased after you.

It's kind of hard to find that character played though for main character, due to how hard it is to relate to them for the audience. But that may be the closest you have.

I'm sure there are others, I just can't think of any off the top of my head. I may later on.

OH! Adam Baldwin. I recommend this guy.

Coincidentally he was in Firefly also. He may be a very good fit for that role.
