That's pretty wacky then. Must take one hell of a future scientist to calculate what you can do without screwing with time.ThaBenMan said:I guess the catch-all term would just be "Ancient Aliens" or maybe "Ancient Astronauts".Siuki said:The only thing I heard of was the alien influence on the Mayans. And Scientology. But really, that stuff is pretty weird/cool. What's it called?
Some other really interesting ideas they've presented -
quartz crystal has actually been shown to be a great medium to store data on, so the famed crystal skulls may be ancient data drives, just waiting to be unlocked somehow.
"Aliens" are not actually aliens at all, but just highly-evolved humans from the distant future. Their spaceships are actually time machines.
Sounds pretty interesting, whats the name of the show so I can check it out?ThaBenMan said:I'm watching this really interesting show on the History Channel that examines theories of aliens visiting Earth in the distant past and having an influence on human evolution. Some of the more wild and interesting ideas are that humans were genetically altered by the aliens to be a slave race, used to mine gold, which may be an important component of starships. And that gods and creatures from ancient mythology that combine animal and human parts were real hybrid creatures created in experiments conducted by the aliens.
I'm not sure if I believe it all or not - I try to keep an open mind, but a lot of this stuff is quite bizarre. In any case, it's interesting - I'm really enjoying the show.
What do you guys think? Are these sorts of things possible, or just a load of crap? Are there any crazy and/or interesting theories in the same vein you'd like to share?
"Ancient Aliens", just like the title of my thread. I think it's usually on tuesday nights, at 8 or 9, on the History Channel.XinfiniteX said:Sounds pretty interesting, whats the name of the show so I can check it out?
I forget why they said it would be important in starships, exactly. I think it was something about it's conductive properties, and how it also doesn't wear out due to age (they talked about how lots of really old gold jewelry has been found in really good condition).Bailos said:Doesn't gold have a very low melting point, to where it would melt in our hands? I don't think it would make good starships.
Yes, actually. Or even more likely, life exists somewhere out there but there isn't even a remote chance of us contacting it either due to distance, time, lack of intelligence or some combination of the three. The galaxy, let alone the universe, is a vast place, we could easily miss each other.TheTim said:It's pretty damn convincing. I mean we cant be the only life forms in the universe can we?
