Our newspapers are meant to be full of shit - they don't keep us informed about the important things, that's what Heat magazine exists for, to let us know which terribly important celebrity is fucking/divorcing/doing blow with which other terribly important celebrities. No, I believe you've made a very valid point. It's something I've always found rather ironic about the situation. Indeed, I thought many of the jokes were said ironically, then I realised that most weren't. The only reaction people had to such an event was planned murder. While anyone, 'gamer' or otherwise may say a similar remark, people need to learn that they will, against generalising bastards such as this one, be a representant of their entire sub-culture.
