And the smack talk floweth.

Skip to the sentence in blue if you don't want to read all this.

For the most part, I'm no smack talker. I'm nowhere near rowdy enough to talk smack and find it highly unnecessary and very unpleasant to talk shit to another person.

That said, there are certain circumstances that, when met, make me a little boisterous.

If I pick any character other than Jin Kazama in Tekken, I'm quiet. However, when I do pick Jin, I start to get a little nuts, asking my foes if they can taste my Karate.

Most recently, while playing the demo for Mortal Kombat, I find that I'm my usual quiet self until I pick Scorpion. Then I get aggressively silly, spouting lines such as "GRRR I AM SCORPION," and "HOW DARE YOU HIT SCORPION," and "GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE," and "I WILL FUCKING STOMP YOUR TITS."

<color=blue>Do you normally talk smack in games? If you don't normally do so, are there any special conditions that, when met, make you a little rowdy?

Edit:

<color=blue>Do you talk shit online or offline (or both)?

NOt usually in the presence of others. I'll curse under my breath if I'm playing if I'm playing Pokemon solo or something in game.

Usually I just sit silent, whether winning or losing, and let my opponent get further overconfident or unnerved.

Actually, the only time I ever smacktalk is if I'm play hockey. Whether in real life or in an NHL game.

I do it all the time in Pokemon, my catchphrase being, "I fucken took your shit apart!"

My verbal frustration stems from my own inability to accomplish something. Hearing people yell profanities at each other makes me depressed to be playing the same game.

EDIT: it's the reason I didn't get L4D2

I used to talk smack back in the day when playing Team Fortress Classic. I remember asking people (after I'd just had a long headshot streak as a sniper) how I was managing to spank them so hard while they were sitting down.

I also had a macro set up for sniper kills for when I was playing as Zombie Wilford Brimley. Every time I sniped someone, they'd see "DIABEETUS" in the chat. Not really smack talk so much as just amusing myself.

I never use chat in fighting games, it messes with your focus.

Every time someone brags during the actual fight that's segments of his attention spent away from the fight, those could easily allow for him to play better, notice something, be more imaginative or react quicker. Only people who don't understand the level of focus you need to have as you play would make a habit of bragging during the actual fights.

Sometimes in CoD, when I'm playing against my friends. Otherwise, no. I'm not really for abusing people over the internet.

So...I gather if I'm ever sharing a cab with an Irish sailor I shouldn't start a conversation, huh?

No, and I usually mute people. It's harder to hear what's going on in-game when you have some retard on the other side blathering on about people being "cheap".

"You have the face of a couch!"
"I'm going to heal the S*** out of you!" I have a weird adititude as a Medic.
"You're slower than a snail riding on a turtle!" I think I stole this one.
"You are the silliest goose in history!"
"Only cowards run away to get health! COOOWWWAAARRRDDSSS!"
"Ooooh run in front of the (insert very big unpleasent thing here) trying to kill you! very smart."
"You may be better than me but you still suck!"
"You're a tree and IIiiimmmm a Lumberjack!"
"No silly, use explosives on the enemy, not your self!"
"Excuse me, but are you aiming with your arrow keys Doom style?"
Most of these are directed at my teammates and done in silly voices.

The only time I ever talk smack in a game is if someone else has been doing it unprovoked and gets slapped in the face.

Not smack smack. Joking smack. Funny smack. Quite possibly...your kind of smack. At a convention during a retro gaming tournament, I was battling in the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles fighting game and went "RAWR!! I am WAR and I have REACH!!".

In short, FalloutJack makes funny comments.

My kind of smack talk indeed.

Even if someone on the other end is being an outright dick, I don't think I'd be able to talk serious smack.

I always have my chat settings to friends only and whatnot, so I don't talk smack to people I don't know since I'm just doing it for fun and you never know when a stranger will take it seriously and start going nuts.

And that's just not something I wanna listen to.

With friends though, hell yeah, I talk smack all the time. It's all in good fun though.

When I'm playing Anarchy mode in Bulletstorm with my roommate, it's the only time the smack talk comes. It's all about the score that round.

(x) Funny bastard button. If no one hath talked fecal matter, this motion is taken.
( ) Smack Talk Demigod. Fecal matter hath been spoken and aimed towards my being! Prepare thine ears and anus. Retribution hath cometh.
