Well, It's already been mentioned, but Shin Megami Tensei has many of them.
Ordinary Angel

Archangel

Principality

Power

Virtue

Dominion

Throne

Also, High-ranking angels such as:
Michael

Gabriel

Raphael

Uriel

Sandalphon

And his brother, popularazied by Dogma movie, Metatron

And, of course, the fallen angel, Helel (a.k.a. Lucifer after the falling)

I've found out more about Judeo-Christian lore from SMT than I ever did from church/sinagogue representatives.

There's also Psychotoxic, which is a relatively unknown game from 2005. Although most of the enemies arent angelic and more weird really, aside from the usual human enemies, you are playing essentially a half-angel, half-human (sound familiar?) and enter into essentially the demonic dreams of the possessed to exorcise them and eventually sorta stop some hell-on-earth scenario from coming true.

Havent played the game in ages so my memory is fuzzy, but the maincharacter in that is essentially a angel, not sure if that counts.

The Warlords Battlecry series has an angel type unit, the Archon:

It's quotes are all angelic and anti-evil and such. Firesword ftw too.

Divinity (IIRC)

Tales Series of RPG's had them all over the place, for that matter, half the JRPG's do, in some form

Well, Alexander from Final Fantasy might count. He is a Holy Elemental summon and one of his most famous incarnations does include angelic wings.

There's a fully-fledged one in Painkiller. Specifically the angel, Samael.

Fun fact: According to Jewish lore, Samael is the angel of death.
Well, actually, Samael is one of several possible angels of death depending on which tradition you follow. He also sometimes shows up as the serpent (yes that serpent) the seducer of Eve and father of Cain, and the guy who held back Abrahams arm from killing Isaac.

Hell, in most Christian lore he is identified full on as Satan, not surprising as his name is often translated as "Venom of God", "Blindness of God" or "severity of God"

Yes I know far too much about this particular Arch-angel, I was a bored student of religion at one point.

OT: if it hasn't been mentioned yet, Planescape: Torment has a few angels wandering around it. The Sacred series (while mediocre) also has a playable race of Seraphim, who are technically angels.

Edit: oh wait, you can also technically summon lesser angels in Baldurs Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, but you have to be ridiculously high level and a good aligned cleric.

Oh god (pun intended) yeah I have looked into Samael a bit and like most things it seems to change over time or who is talking. I have heard tales of him being the snake in the garden others say it is Satan which I suppose I can understand the confusion given time as the names are sorta similar but then originally I though Lucifer and Satan were the same but nope dosent seem to be that way originally seems they were only merged later on I bit like how I suppose `the devil` and Satan are becoming synonymous now albeit in a different way.

I also originally thought that Lucifer was the ruler of hell but seems like he is only one of nine princes of hell and not even the most powerful and tbh I dont know where Satan fits in among this or even if it/he still does. I just found it a complete mess,an interesting mess granted but I think the original mythos has been lost in time however if you have studied it I am sure you are much more informed than me I just occasionally read about it from a point of interest. Actually now I think about it theres a lot of parallels with ancient Chinese Mythology in the setup but then again a lot of religions have the same stories in different guises which in itself I find quite fascinating.

OT: has anyone mentioned Sacred and Sacred 2 yet one of the playable classes is a seraphim.

Would the Herons from Fire Emblem would count?

Reyson

Rafiel

Leanne

They're not specifically called angels in the context of the game, but considering the Heron clan's visual design, serene nature, and references to a "Fallen Angel" of sorts that can be made for Rafiel and Reyson (Rafiel's bad wings, Reyson's mannerism pre- and post-Serenes Massacre), the comparison is damn near impossible to miss.

Angels are late-game enemies in Xenogears.

Xenosaga has some characters with angel wings, but not really sure if they would be called angels.
A number of the Gnosis also appear to be angelic in nature. So yeah, chalk up Xenosaga 1 and 3 as games that include Angels.
Can you post some example for me please?
I never played XenoGears before.
Um, I did. The image in the spoiler tag is the concept art for all of the angelic enemies in Xenogears.

... oh crap, I typoed. Xenogears has no number associated with it (well, aside from Episode V). I meant to say Xenosaga 1 and 3 (which I've now corrected above).

As for Xenosaga Gnosis, I tried a Google image search for them, but the only picture of the angelic ones was mixed in with other enemies. However, the angel imagery is much more pronounced with the main characters such as chaos and KOS-MOS.

Surprisingly, I don't know much about Angels in video games, considering my Escapist title, RP-ing as one for many years and interest in Angels and Archangels in total.

Damn, well this just proves that there just needs to be more Angels and Archangels in every media on the planet.
...
I'm kidding, I don't want them to be ruined once again by previous experiences.
Just more Angels and Archangels in video games would be nice ... maybe a playable one?

*cough*

Well, I have one choice on this list.
It is Jak's light eco form in the Jak & Daxter series.

That would be the closest thing to an Angel in that series I would say.
Any others would be already lists, and the one I do know isn't a Angel at all ... it's just called "Galaxy Angels" (A visual novel).

Man, I feel like they are misrepresented in some video games.
They wouldn't be dicks.
But that's due to the writer I guess.
Now I should shut up before I either say shit about someone or become someone on the list of an Angel of Death, now we wouldn't want that.

Requiem: Avenging Angel
crap.

Yeah, Requiem Avenging Angel. You play as the angel Malachi, sent to earth as agent of god to fight the fallen who have subjugated the people under a totalitarian regime in a dystopian, orwellian future.

Gameplay wise it's a pretty standard first person shooter affair, taken cues more from Half-Life then other contemporaries. It also has a miracle system which is very similar to Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2's Force powers.

It had it's flaws, but I still remember the game fondly. It's reception wasn't great, but that's what happens when you come out in the same time space as System Shock 2, Deus Ex and Half Life. Retrospectively I would say it holds its own.

EDIT: I should also note that this game was one of the earliest (if not the first) to use Bullet Time.

Star Ocean 3 had the Proclaimers. Not specifically called Angels, but the imagery is obvious. Sorry I don't have a pic.

However a question about sephiroth:
He is indeed an angel?
That's debatable. His only defining angelic feature is his one wing (and for like, one battle, six wings), and it's made quite clear throughout VII that he's little more than a test subject. There's nothing particularly holy about him. However, he's frequently called the One-Winged Angel, and some of his moves also use the word (such as Heartless Angel). Personally, I'd say no, he's not an angel.
Actually I know some interesting trivia on this. So the whole one winged angel thing was apparently a mistranslation of a word that meant something along the lines of "angel missing one wing", attuned to an imperfect angel, but with no real English equivalent, it's usually translated to "fallen angel".

This also is reflected in his final form only had five wings, being akin to a Seraph which had 6 wings and was considered the highest rank of an angel, but missing a wing making him an imperfect seraph. So the "angel missing one wing" title still applied to him.

He's more like an angel clone or splice than an actual angel, but he is designed around the concept of an angel and has a lot of references to them.

Divekick. The "random" character, Kenny, is an angel. ("oh my god! they killed Kenny!" ...yes, that's the joke.)

Homestuck series and its spiritual successor, Namco High. The character Davesprite is an angelic "narrator" character and fully aware that he is in a video game, almost Deadpool style.

Magic: the Gathering contains a creature type "Angel". Magic: the Gathering Online and Duels of the Planeswalkers both contain angels (though Duels has few, if any, of the named ones)

Extra help please!

I found in League of Legends are angels on it. Which character is an angel?
Kayle and Morganna are angels; sisters, in fact. Kayle leads her soldiers on the path of righteous fury and discipline. Morganna fell to the dark when she disagreed with her sister's stoic ideology and was cold-heartedly disowned, and now seeks revenge against Kayle. Lore suggests that other angels also exist, but so far the only ones to join the League are those two. Soraka may qualify as well. Though she lacks the magnificent wings, her lore suggests a possible angelic origin... though the common interpretation is she's more alien than angel.

Question: Do Valkyrie count as angels? They are sometimes depicted with similar physiology to the "traditional" angels, are servants of "god", the all-father Odin, and serve a similar function, i.e., reclamation of souls of the dead and warring against forces of evil.

If so, Odin Sphere certainly contains "angels", Gwendolyn and her sisters appear as both allies and enemies.

The terrible Too Human also contains Valkyrie/Angels, though their only purpose seems to be in the respawning cutscene.
