But holy shit watch ANYTHING but Guilty Crown, I could rant for hours about what is wrong with that show. But it doesn't do anything right, it's characters are all bland as hell and it's writing is some of the worst I've seen even by bad anime standards.

But if you don't care about writing and characterization and you just want an anime pretty visuals and good music, yeah Guilty Crown I guess.
Ah yes, Guilty Crown, such a load of total and utter mediocrity. The sad thing is that I can't even say that it's bad, because it isn't bad, it really isn't anything, it's about as bland and unoriginal as an anime could possibly be.

It just straight rips off things from about a half dozen different, better, anime (including Code Geass, Elfen Lied, and Macross) and mashes those pieces together into something completely and utterly uninteresting, something that's much less than the sum of it's parts.

At least the visuals are pretty though.

Now, I am an easy man to please when it comes to anime.
I just finished rewatching Code Geass and when I get home from work I plan to get into Monster.
(Needed something to watch)

Two questions.
Do you think Monster is worth putting my time into?

and

Is there another anime like Code Geass out there?
I only ask because the last thread on this was more than a year ago.. At least that's what the first two pages of the search bar said.

If you guys would be so kind to help, I'd be happy that I don't have to sift through anime-blog sites and google searches :)
I thought monster was boring and suggest death note and if youve already seen that I suggest gankutsuou and if youve already seen that I suggest Ergo Proxy.

I would not recommend Monster. I found that the story became quite stale after a while and I could only manage about 20 episodes into it. I'm not sure about another anime like Code Geass, I've heard that Gurren Lagann is supposed to be similar but I've never seen it.
Gurren is like Geass, but where Geass is serious Gurren is over the top... Both very good shows though!

OP: So, yeah give Gurren Lagaan a try... It is very good!

Other generally good ones: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kaze no Stigma, Elfen Lied, and Deadman Wonderland (Deadman and Lied are both very good but are also rather violent and disturbing... if that doesn't bother you i highly suggest them both!)

the difference being that Gurren lagann doesn't try to take itself seriously.
TTGL o.0 taking it self seriously? what half of an ep was that o.o.

not seen Code Geass, so not sure how to offer advice

Oh yeah! I'll have to second that. Elfen and Deadman are really good.

I've never really understood the love for Kaze no Stigma. I watched the entire thing and thought it was pretty mediocre. It was nothing but trope after trope after trope and did absolutely nothing original, or better than any other anime.

To be honest, I have yet to actually watch it... I have downloaded it and given it to friends who have said it was good. That's why I put it up there...

All the other ones I have watched though...

I hereby replace "Kaze no Stigma" with "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni", which I thoroughly enjoyed...

I can get behind the first season of Higurashi, which was awesome. The second and third seasons, where they were actually trying to have a cohesive plot seemed kind of meh to me. Not enough crazy.

I'd say yeah it does slow down on occasion but when it hit's it's stride it is damn awesome and the finale is pretty great.

I really don't know what to recommend if you liked Code Geass, except a few mecha shows like Escaflowne or Rahxenphon.

Also The World only God Knows has Keima who is basically Lelouch if he was a hopeless Dating Sim geek, it's pretty damn funny.
I'd personally advise watching both seasons of The World God Only Knows and moving onto the manga, which incorporates several other interest plot elements and developers the characters much, much further.
(Also, the anime is tagged as "harem" but the harem, only comes into play in the chapters of the manga that continue the story farther than the anime's ending)
