Announcing post counts....

So, I was about to hit 1k posts today and I was thinking to myself "What should I do for it?" and I thought "Let's see how big of a stupid irony I can possibly put in a single post!"

In the end, I came to one conclusion: why not announce my 1000th post by complaining about people who announce post counts?

Note: if you take the thread seriously, I would seriously be concerned.

So, why exactly do people decide that we need to know when they hit x post count? What is your opinion on the matter?

Well, I plan on celebrating my 10k post as that feels like a generally decent achievement to me. No need to make a big deal out of hitting, a post count more than once though.

I have no idea, to me anything under 2000 isn't really a big deal.

Now if you hit 5000 or 10,000 that's pretty cool.

Especially if you have a clean record.

You would have another thread for each thread you amke too, to announce the post you made in your own thread.

I don't make threads when I hit [x] amount of posts, though I am planning on a 10k one if I ever make it that far.

What I normally do is put an EDIT in posts that are multiples of 1000 and say something along the lines of this: "Also, 3000th post. Go me!"

It's a pretty nice accomplishment to some. Not that big of a deal, but you still get a sense of accomplishment.

I can't wait for my 5k post. I'm not sure what to do, though.

I generally forget when I pass a post count, I did not celebrate 1k, 5k, or 10k, I will however celebrate my one year anniversary when that comes up.

To be honest, I'm one of those people. I usually do it every thousand posts, but I try to have some sort of discussion or something going on in those threads, and it's usually a review.

I don't think I'll ignore my 10k (since I'll actually be kind of proud of that), but I'll probably just reserve that post for one of my reviews.

Meh, I'm not fussed, tbh. I think that since postcounts are readily available for view, it's not really necessary.

But, then again, I've gotten pretty big numbers on a forum before, so I could just be jaded.
