But honestly, if you are complaining that you cant play video-games because of this... then it really is sad.
I'm complaining because I have a very short window of opportunity to try out Little Big Planet's community map scene. Currently I have... One or two days more. Couldn't try it the first two days because of this shenanigans.

If this opportunity sneaks by unseizedI'll have to wait who knows how long until I can possibly get another chance. Or buy a $40-50 copy of my own.

Honestly, think about it for a second...... 70 million PSN users [I lol'd] just spent an entire day, a full 24 hours, complaining on the internet.... that they couldnt play games...

stick with my train of thought for a second.... People are complaining that they cant play games... on the internet.

Today? I read a couple of books, talked to some old friends, and actually had fun... without the use of videogames! call me crazy, but I find it weird people haven't done the same.... and when you think about it, thats a bit sad.
It may be sad, but regardless, I think you're missing the whole point here. It's not anyones place really to tell those 70 million how to live their lives. If that's what these people want to do with their personal time then that's their choice and on one elses. They paid for that service after all.

Hehe, that would be someone syphoning the gas from my car and telling me to shut up and stop whining and that.. "it's good to walk to work, it's healthy for you" :p

Really don't care. Don't have a PS3, even if I did I wouldn't play online, so PSN will have to teleport hookers made of bacon into my room before I care about it.

Also, here's a little protip: Games have a single-player mode. Try it out. You might find it fun, and you should find that it does not require PSN to function.
I take it you never played Capcom games.

If Yahtzee's statements are even half-based on truth, which I believe they are, then I'm not missing much. Maybe taping a fire-axe to a sledgehammer and pounding some zombies into the dirt, but other than that.....yeah...
No, I mean some Capcom games require you to be logged on to PSN to play?at all. Bionic Commando 2 does this.

To me, it seems like Annonomous needs to get their head streight.

Just because it is on the internet, doesn't mean it needs to be free.

Put yourself in a designers shoes, you make a game, put it up for sale, and all of the sudden no one buys it because of mass pirating.

I agree with sueing pirates, I just think it is too harsh. Maybe just restrict the right of download on the internet to them, and then charge them like 800 bucks in total.

I like their hatred for WBC, but Pirating is illegal, and we should have stricter rules against it.

Honestly, I'm still not convinced that it's not just Sony being totally shit that caused this problem. They transferred control over PSN to a different branch of Sony at the start of the month. Maybe the new guys fucked it up? This also happened at about the same time Portal 2, the game that was bringing Steamworks features to PSN, came out. Maybe Sony wasn't nearly as ready for Portal 2 and Steam as they thought they were and that did it? Or hey, it is Sony, the guys who couldn't program a calendar that handles leap years properly. Maybe this happened simply because Sony is a wee bit incompetent? Oh but wait, China. They did something to Amazon apparently, maybe they did something to Sony too?

But anyway; point is, look at all those maybes. Maybe this did it, maybe that did it. And hey, maybe some "part" of Anon (yes I know they aren't all one unified group, I don't need the speech kthx) did it. Maybe. The only truth here is that we don't know what the cause of this outage is. So let's not grab the torches and pitchforks and go after anon, or start getting pissed of and saying we should go kick China's ass.

Didn't realize that they confirmed involvement with this whole thing. Hrmph. Haven't been playing much online lately, mostly use my psn for the netflix and hulu+. Yes this whole faux "for your own good" attitude annoys me a bit. Long day of work I'd like to watch a fucking episode of Doctor Who or two jerky jerks. But what are you going to do? Not much TO do really.

.....maybe going outside would be for the best.

As I said, the issue for me isn't that I don't have anything else to do without my PSN. I'm currently actually stressing about all of the shit I have to do in my life right now. I'm mainly annoyed if this WAS done by a group "for our own good".

And for the record I pay for both Netflix and Hulu+, neither of which I pay for to watch on my small computer screen.

Apparently you didn't get my point.

Capcom does not make a game that I want to play. And even if they did, I don't even put up with DRM like that on my PC, so why in seven fucks does Capcom think I'd put up with it on consoles too?
Believe it or not, Capcom does make some game that people care about. My point was that it still fucks up games completely for some people. Not only that, but some games are significantly worse without multiplayer. Demon's Souls is only half the experience when you don't team up with partners to fight black phantoms. Not to mention MAG(there's possibly another online only game on PS3 somewhere) and PSN games. The PSN isn't just for giving mediocre WW2/Space-Marine shooters a multiplayer component.

We didn't do it, like we have been telling you, but honestly, you cant blame us for giving good advice from time to time.
Like I said, "if". I haven't really given that much of a shit til I heard of the possibility that it was Anon. Even if it was Anon I wouldn't be able to do anything about it, so I wouldn't lose any sleep. If it's not Anon? Doesn't really change anything for me. At least it's not some douche/s trying to tell me what to do with myself.

You know that Anon denied involvement with this right?
Well, that certainly clears things up.
Yeah, I was really weirded out by this topic, considering one of the news stories on the main page is about how Anon denied involvement.

I fully expect a well written apology from each individual of the 70 million PSN player-base who blindly accused Anon of something that, while completely awesome, was not our doing.
It's funny how you think that every PSN account is out there shouting this is all Anon's fault. Anon doesn't even know why PSN is down thus they can't claim they know it had nothing to do with their previous actions or them. They can claim that THEY didn't shut down PSN but they can't say they aren't the reason it is down. Ruling out that possibility is like ruling out the possibility that not everyone is throwing a fit about it. This type of logic is the same stuff that makes Anon look stupid.

Poor innocent Anon having to take the blame for something they claim they didn't do but have done similar before. I wasn't even home most of the day. When I was, I watched the Royals game and checked out some stuff online.

If you are part of Anon, let me tip my hat to you and say you guys are entertaining but damn, you don't have a clue how to make a point. Part of the entertainment value is the level of stupidity to your entitlement. I wouldn't be quick to show affiliation personally.

I won't apologize for what I said
I still say Anon is fucked in the head

How many points is that worth in your game?
Would an apology score just the same?

Hehe, the point still stands though that Anon has made an attack this week and this could be related. It is impossible at this point to shrug off any responsibility for this. Anon should recognize this if they think they understand the world of the big boys.

I love how Anon, a very decentralized group, puts out a "We didn't do it" message and some people eat it up like it's gospel. Come on.

...and I would play such games on PC if I played them at all.

The only PS3 exclusive I care about is Gran Turismo 5, and even then I won't need a PSN account for it.
Congratulations, you don't care for PSN integrated games. Good thing the universe doesn't revolve around you.
