Hmmm... this 'no censorship' thing is all well and good in theory, kind of like how Marx thought the world should work, but in reality allowing people on the internet to post whatever they like, anonymously, and without moderation is a recipe for disaster. All that happens is that about 4 posts into a thread it devolves into a childish slanging match of "ur a fag", and "o yeh? well ur mom iz a hore", which then goes on for about 9 million pages. It's unavoidable - just look at the comments under almost every single YouTube video.

It's sad that there is such a huge population of immature (and/or stupid) internet users, but that's just life.

They'll still be subject to internet censorship laws, and with social networking people will be easier to catch, too.

Also, doesn't social networking violate the basic principles of "everyone's anonymous" to begin with?

Whatever, I see 4chan as an ongoing social experiment. Do whatever, guys. I'll support this just because I wanna see what'll happen.

Anonymous has tons of web space to use however they want. What are you talking about?

I never thought they had anything against social networking, I always assumed they were more of the anarchistic "Bring down the man who's holding us down!" type of group. Especially with the whole Guy Fawkes thing. It strikes me as a very "V For Vendetta" meets the Internet sort of ordeal.
I always wondered if they really understood that they had taken on a right wing religious funtamentalist as an avatar. I very much doubt Guy would approve of a uncensored internet if he were alive today. (Who completely undermined his own cause. His little attempt at regime change caused a massive, brutal crackdown on catholics in England, the people he was trying to "free" with his act)

They may as well have an Al Qaieda avatar.

I cant imagine a quicker way of picking up a virus than joining an anon sponsored social network site.

Here here for free speech!

It's wrong that they're not allowed certain rights on the internet due to black listing. That said i hope they have uber tight security on their new site.
They have all the free speech they want. Google banning people doesn't interfere with free speech in the least.

OT: Is it just me, or has anonymous gone from mildly interesting, to irritatingly boring. Like when a kid keeps yelling "Mom! look at me! look! I can jump over the ENTIRE sidewalk! LOOK LOOK LOOK!"

"Welcome to the Revolution - a new social network where there is no fear... of censorship... of blackout... nor of holding back," it says. "There will be no more oppression. There will be no more tyranny."

Why does this seem like so much bullshit, anyone using a social networking site probably lives in a country where they have no right to complain about things like tyranny and oppression.

Maybe Anonymous can go to places where oppression and tyranny are actual problems and annoy the shit out of those people. Thats why I can't take Anonymous seriously and also why there doesn't seem to be a point of them to make their own network, because its not like Facebook is cracking down and opppresing peoples' rights.

I'm reminded of that Dilbert strip about chain letters, and how they are illegal. "Perhaps when you commit your first crime you shouldn't mail it to fifty people."

It's a sad day when Scott Adams can outsmart you.

I can see it now, "Anonymous poked you, would you like to poke them back, anonymously?" "Message recieved: Hey! I think I met you before, but i'm not sure since you're anonymous and could be anybody, but it's a networking site so I figured i'd try!"

Jesus..

Can I just point to the word "social" in that statement?

And then to the word "network".

And then to the word "Anonymous".

So, we've got a group of people who all claim to be as one, being as many, to be as one?

Isn't this sort of like the Cthulu For Peace brigade?

How do you make a social network where everyone is anonymous?

-Anonymous has added you as a freind.

-Searching for anonymous? 200,000 results.
Anon#234: Hey pal, how's it going?
Anon#452: Not bad, just hacked into Anon#117's mail account, a real treasure chest!
Anon#117: I hate you guys.
Anon#666: 2012, fools!

Yeah, that should be as entertaining as reading through those chatboxes certain sites have, where every guests can post in. > . >

A anonymous social network... a social network with anonymous users..?

Wouldn't that be very confusing?

So how long will this take before 4-Chan invades it and ruins everything? My guess is about 5 months after it goes live.

I'm willing to bet in a cruel and hilarious twist of Irony that Social Network will be hacked soon after it comes online, I'm practically expecting it... And I can't wait *Sadistic Grin*

Anyways, back on topic, this seems strange for a group that supposedly Claims to not be organized and have no leadership structure.
Ahhh! *drowns beneath the torrent of improper capitalization*

Anyway, I have a gut feeling this is all an elaborate ruse to gather more personal info to publish.

If there is one thing I can say, it is that I love their showmanship.

Wait, how are they getting blocked from Google+ based on Anon activities? I thought the whole point of Anonymous was to be anonymous. They should be able to join these services with impunity if they're doing it right.

And this quote is overly dramatic. It'll seem even sillier when the whole thing ends up a troll hive. There are benefits to rules and oversight after all, even when their overuse and abuse is bad.
