OK, terrorism is only getting worse these days. I predict that by 2015. There will be another terrorist attack bigger then the 9:11. As Albert Einstein once said

'I know not the weapons in which world war 3 will be fought, but i can assure you world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones"

The world is going to hell.

Meh. I'm not worried.

Not even a little bit.

Also, 9:11 is a time of the day. You mean 9/11.

War.

War never changes.

I'd better scavenge up a butt-load of whiskey.

You have to admit that terrorism is only getting worse. Push leads to shove.

Nah, I doubt it.
The Justice League's only let the few attacks we've seen get through by accident. They'll be on high alert by now.

You know what worries me? It's not terrorism. It's increasing intolerance.

Terrorists are no real threat, they are scary because they randomly pick civilian targets, not because they have any real power.

People shouting and spitting at muslims and homosexuals and the like however; that scares me.

How long before "different" means "dangerous"?

And why are you saying this? So that if the nuclear halocaust happens by 2015 you can pull your glowing posterior out of the rubble long enough to say "I called it," or do you actually want to help with the situation?

Because either way there is basically no discussion value here. I understand you are new to the forums, but just know that whenever you make a thread, you need more than just a statement or an opinion. You need to offer something for everyone else to talk about, a discussion. For example, to add discussion value to this topic you can provide a few statistics or sources that actually show the rise in terrorism, and then ask if everyone feels more or less threatened by terrorism now than they did right after September 11th.

Terrorism is NOT getting worse. At all. Wanna know why? They've already won. We have our troops fighting an unwinnable war in a god forsaken desert, and we are fed lies that it is 'Just' and 'righteous' when in reality there are many casulties on both sides with no ends in sight. Another thing is the new stringent TSA policies in American airports you have to be living under a rock to not have heard about the outrageous things people go through, being humiliated to go on holiday. Iran has a better airport system, has very little delays hasnt seen a major threat since 2002 and doesn't involve strangers feeling the genitals of your 80 year old mother. Seriously, terrorists wont bother anymore, they aren't a threat and you have nothing to worry about.

TL;DR Op, there are no more terrorists theyve won

Yup. They've completely upped the stakes since 9-11. you can't deny that. Even if facts would disagree.

And I thought we were getting better about that too.

It seems like the terrorists have won, when such a large faction in our society runs to its wingnuts and moonbats, and cries "save us from that which scares us!"

And then they say "What scares you?"

And then they cannot answer. For they have been so blinded by their fear of chaos and disorder, that they don't even know anymore.

And then the wingnuts and moonbats start TELLING them what they should fear. They tell them what they themselves hate. They tell them to fear science, and other races, and other ideologies, and the people, not knowing if they should fear it or not, become fearful anyway, because someone told them so.

The terrorists have won. They are nothing if not convicted in their twisted beliefs. Where are we in ours?

Freedom, dignity, compassion, enlightenment. Where did these pillars of our society go?

WAR

HUH

WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR?
AAABSOLUTELY NOTHIN.

What someone had to.

And I think its a pretty pointless thing to predict, I mean whatre you gonna do if another attack does happen ? Say "I told you so" No. No. No. No.
Theres been alot of failed terrorist attacks recently, which is lifting my spirits as were actually stopping them.

Well of course, given that terrorism is just another word for freedom fighter, partisan, guerrila or insurgent depending on which side your on and what conflict it is. Almost every modern conflict will likely create one of the above. If it's not Al Qaeda, it's the Real IRA. If it's not ETA, it's Chechens.

*facepalm*
Higher security and the lack of outright stupidity amongst the Taliban leaders will prevent it.
Also, the motherF*cking useless war that being fougth? If the groups considered having spare troops they would be fighting soliders in Afghanistan.

There is one problem with your theory. Mankind will not exist then, since we'll all be gone by 2012.

How is it getting worse? Seriously, I want a number that didn't come out of your ass.

Quoting Einstein to prove a stupid point makes the point stupider by comparison. Terrorists do not have nuclear weapons, and they aren't involved in world wars. Think of them as suicidal vandals with bombs, not whatever the hell you're thinking of them as.

Do I HAVE to admit it? I havn't really seen a big terrorist break in the americas since 9/11.. Oh there was that car in times square, but that was a joke...

See, EVERYTHING is getting worse. You know why? Because no one notices the years of rest.

Think of it this way. Let's say in 2011, 30 planes crash into various landmarks around the U.S. IT IS WORSE THAN 9/11. What is everyone gonna say? Terrorism is getting worse, it's on a constant rise, it's escalating. What are they gonna forget? The decade of terrorism-free peace they enjoyed without anything bad happening around them.

So yeah, you can say that terrorism is gonna keep getting worse, but only because you're ignoring the moments where it doesn't exist, and only taking into account the moments when terrorism actually occurs

I agree here. Out of the big list of things that could fuck up in the world, terrorism's got to be pretty low on the list. Not that we shouldn't be striving for global peace, but I'd much more worry about radical conservatism than terrorism.
And we still need to settle out the environment and sustainability, and getting people (everyone) on track towards better lifestyles. All the while, this doom and gloom attitude solves nothing.
