You know what worries me? It's not terrorism. It's increasing intolerance.
Terrorists are no real threat, they are scary because they randomly pick civilian targets, not because they have any real power.
People shouting and spitting at muslims and homosexuals and the like however; that scares me.
How long before "different" means "dangerous"?
And I thought we were getting better about that too.
It seems like the terrorists have won, when such a large faction in our society runs to its wingnuts and moonbats, and cries "save us from that which scares us!"
And then they say "What scares you?"
And then they cannot answer. For they have been so blinded by their fear of chaos and disorder, that they don't even know anymore.
And then the wingnuts and moonbats start TELLING them what they should fear. They tell them what they themselves hate. They tell them to fear science, and other races, and other ideologies, and the people, not knowing if they should fear it or not, become fearful anyway, because someone told them so.
The terrorists have won. They are nothing if not convicted in their twisted beliefs. Where are we in ours?
Freedom, dignity, compassion, enlightenment. Where did these pillars of our society go?
