Absolutely! Mostly because it would be a spectacle. Assuming that it happens the way they say it's going to. It would be cool until everyone died. o_O

True, true. "Man the fuck up!" certainly is a better option than suicide.

I imagine that they are all extremely selfish people who believe that if they aren't happy, no one should be happy. Or maybe they just don't have a psychiatrist.
Thanks for understanding /sarcasm

No that's not true at all, depression does not make someone wish worse for others.

Umm, nah. As awesome as the end of the world probably would be to watch, I'd prefer not to die so soon.

Nope, not at all. I do not wish the death of roughly 7 billion people and countless more animals. That's rather selfish in my opinion. Besides, if the world does end I would have never been to a Daft Punk concert and listened to the fourth album. That would suck!

Hi fucking-five. I love the Discovery Channel and that ad. When you want the world to end, look at that ad. Do you want to take it all away?

Well I wouldn't have to bother making anything out of my life. Besides, the party beforehand if we knew for definate that the world was going to end would be soooooo EPIC.

I wouldn't mind. I'll be 18 in July, and I don't feel like worrying about shit like college, mortgage payments, insurance, and making a family

In general, the human populous is pretty arrogant, stupid, and selfish. I wouldn't mind having to be free of the travesty that is the human race.

If the world does end in some natural phenomenon, even though I'm curious as to what would happen, I would say no.

Why?

'Cause we'll probably all die so fast that we won't even be able to contemplate it being the end of the world for a moment.

Now to start i do not believe that the apocalypse will arrive in december 2012 . But i wish it would . Now i am not a person that wishes ill to anyone nor do i think that the earth is in such a deplorable state that we deserve to have the human race be annihalited ( well actually i do but thats not the reason). The reason is i would just like to see it happen. How many people would really be able to say , i am watching the end of the world .

I don't WANT to die , i am not depressive ( well not tothe extend to want to die ) , but if i have to go out well the end of the world seems like a pretty valid way to go out . But i would never admit this outside the internet .

Anyways , so Escapist , anyone actually hoping this happens? What are your thoughts about this apocalypse thing?
Short answer: No

Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I'm quite addicted to life.

Also "deplorable state"? You're in a first world country pondering the end of the world. You have it pretty good. We're not completely fucked.

You'll forgive me for not taking you seriously. I have reference books on my shelf older than you.

No, my wish for the world to end in December is no secret.

But I kid, I've still got my whole life ahead of me. Though some warning would be nice, if it's all going to end at the end of the year I'd like to know. That way, I can stop applying for jobs to start in September if there's only going to be about 4 months between me starting and the end of days.

I used to. Then I met this amazing girl who is on the opposite side of the world. I now have a purpose - rescue her from her dungeon.

Only if the human race (not the entire planet) ended, since humans are probably the worst thing to ever happen to this planet.
'Cause one of trillions of trillions of planets is far more important that the lives that have come from it.

God, I fucking hate it when people say shit like that.

EDIT: You, or someone else, is probably going to reply with something along the lines of "so are you saying the death of one person isn't a bad thing at all?" as if that's a comparable situation.

I don't want the world to end. I'm too young to die. I won't even have my licence yet. I don't want to die a highschool student. Plus i just got out that phase in life where i think every one deserves to die.

But are you actually reasonable? This is kind of the same thing with people who think everyone but themselves are sheeple, we are not the best at evaluating ourselves honestly.

On topic: No, there are few things in this world that would make me want to wish for the end of the world.
Ah, you misunderstand. When I say "a reasonable number" I mean a significantly large number of people (who would still be left alive), rather than people who are reasonable as a personality trait. I see you are from Iceland from your profile however, so not having heard this phase before is understandable.

I expect in a apocalypse-type situation the ratio of reasonable:unreasonable people would remain roughly at the same level as it is now. Which am I? That's for you to decide :-D

Not unless it ends spectacularly. Not some explosion or some big rock hitting earth, something really awesome and godlike. Only then, if something completely blows my mind, like a colossal being absorbs my soul or Nuclear Armageddon, with warning ahead of time so we can all do what needs to be done.

I want the god damned rapture with time to enjoy it, not some sudden kaboom. I want a sea of souls splitting the sky and ground and circling the earth! I want to see the people of the world melting before an almighty celestial, miles-tall being which has descended from the heavens or rose from the earth itself. I want to see Armageddon's wrath unleashed a fierce rage just before an unheard of stillness in the air. I want the world to burn ever none stop with the heat scorching the plains for years to come, as the ground cracks and infernal creatures attempt to clamber upon the planet, over throwing and enslaving humanity for the nature of it's sins.

I want something that I can experience, not witness! I want an epic scale, not a paltry whimper. If mankind and the planet dies I want it to go out on a level people would think to be impossible outside of the imagination, but I want people to know that we are the human race, and if we shall all die, then lets go out like we should, with our spirits and souls, the fibres of being showing, and our determination to be great. We have progressed so far in hundreds and thousands and even millions of years! All of this shall not, and will not evaporate in but a poof of smoke. No, I say, No, no, no, no NO!

We became the dominant race here, we survived torments caused by nature, from others, even the planet itself seemed to turn against us, but did we ever back down? No, we moved forward, we moved on, helping each other out with an instinct of survival. We want to move on, no matter how much it can hurt us. That is who we are. That's "Human", That is "Being". Through our efforts, we will not be snuffed out in an instant. We will get the ending we so richly deserve! We are the Human race and by god, we're going out with a bang one way or the other!

Calumon: Jack's scary and loud >.< I'm staying under this desk. It's quiet here.
