I'm depressed and I still think this kind of mentality is ridiculous. If you honestly can't find any sort of happiness in this world you seriously need to reevaluate yourself. Am I curious to see how the world will end? Sure. Unfortunately I have a lot to look forward to in life and would really like to experience life before it all ends.

And hey I'm as big a fan of apocalyptic settings as the next guy, but only because I still have all the pleasures of the 1st world while exploring one. In reality, if we lived in something like the Capital Wasteland, it would really suck. I mean have you seen the toilets they have to use? Disgusting. They probably don't even have plumbing...

Hell no. I'll be pissed. I'm graduating with my Masters in May, getting married in October, and I'm planning our honeymoon for March 2013 (my fiance needs to finish her masters in Feb 2013).

A little part of me does, sure. Life, for all its wonder and majesty, is also a huge pain in the ass, and I blame People (as a whole) for most of it. I don't actually believe such a cataclysm is forthcoming... but if it were, and if I were the only one who could stop it, I'd have to think really, really hard about it. Would probably depend on how much trouble stopping it would be.
