And another hug to you, hun. *Hugs*

Congratulations! Oooh, that must be awesome!

Still... I'm not sure if I would... sure, I often dream about changing genders permanently and being a woman 24/7, but I still quite like the male genitalia I was born with. Maybe I could take hormones or something and get a more feminine appearance, but still.

... Also, you and I need to be friends, post haste! *Moar hugs!*
*hug*

No need to worry :) Surgery isn't for everyone, and I do know of some who had gone on hormones but not for surgery, and some who live as female without either.

All depends on you, the decision will come :)

Bisexual male here, but also have real life transgendered friends of both ways (2 MtFs and 1 FtM) who I fully support.

It is more inclusive than LGBT, and it is also easier to pronounce (plus a Quiltbag is an actual thing - a bag full of different kinds of cloth that are then sewn together, as noted by another poster).
You've been co-opted into the Amish Marketing Machine as part of a guerilla marketing campaign.

It makes sense when you think about it (as long as you've dropped acid beforehand).

Thank you. Hmm... I think I can guess what some of 'QUILTBAG' stands for, would you mind clarifying it for me, and others who might be confused by the term?
Thank you.
It was defined farther up this page, but I'll copy/paste in case anyone missed it the first two times.

Queer/questioning
Undecided
Intersex
Lesbian
Transgender/Transsexual
Bisexual
Asexual
Gay

As noted, the L,G,B, and T are identical to the same letters in LGBT, but there are additional letters for other related groups including Asexuals.

Heh heh, thanks!

So far, I've got to say, the Escapist is the most trans-friendliest gamer/nerd site I've ever been a part of. I love it here!

Plus, even if it wasn't, I'd stick around just for Yahtzee and sexy sexy Jim.

The Escapist can at times appear to have an above average LGBT presence. Though I think it may be a trick of perception, as sexuality and gender identity are only really going to be discussed in threads centred around the LGBT community or issues. Naturally these threads will have a larger number of LGBT posters, or at least seam to. Just a thought, I may be completely wrong and the site might actually just a bunch of quiltbags... Which sounds some bizarre insult now that I've typed it.

As for myself, I am a serial lurker. I also fall under the acronyms, but that's all I'm saying. *wonk*

Hey, I am also gay, not that anyone would ever notice cause lots of people expect you to be a raging stereotype and I don't conform to the stereotypical "gay" traits apart from the fact that I like guys :p

Im from Northern Ireland in the UK.

Bisexual-with-a-Male-preference guy here, just droppin' by to say hello and welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay!

Which, well, I'm sure you will. As others have pointed out, the LGBT community is pretty well represented here, so you're not alone no matter what sexuality or gender you associate yourself with. =)

Most certainly! God, compared to other nerd/geek/gamer sites I've been a part of (i.e. roleplayerguild.com), this place is so friendly to trans people! It's awesome!

Bi-guy here, wanted to say hi and give a belated welcome to The Escapist!

I have to admit, outside of LGBT-related forums, The Escapist does have one of the nicest and most accepting communities in it. I can't think of any points off the top of my head where I've gone into a thread where someone pointed out their sexuality and got blasted for it, at least.

Anyway, enjoy your stay!
