Let's get Started!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Fuse, Fuse, FUSE! It will really help you out in the later stages of the game.

Get your social link for The Chariot (Join the Sports team) to the max level so you will be able to fuse Thor. He was my go-to damage dealer for the final half of the game and during the final boss.

Speaking of Social-Links, get as many as you can! You get social-links by what else, forming relationships with others.

I would suggest getting all of your personality traits to their heighest level (Studying, doing karaoke at night, going to the cafe, and watching movies at the theater can help each trait) because they can open up social-link trees.

Grind those levels. It can get tedious, but it pays off towards the end.

Go to the bathroom before you go to Tartarus. It can improve your condition to 'great' every so often. (So does sleeping in class)

Make sure you always have a healer in the party to keep your HP looking decent.

You should stick to a main party your entire playthrough to make sure they level up and get all of their powers.
(I stuck with Yukari, Ken, and Koromaru. Ken and Koromaru won't be revealed until later in the game.)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I hope this helps!

Now, If you would be so kind as to go ahead and buy Persona 4 right now.

Don't question it, just do it.

Nothing causes a rage quit faster than spending hours grinding only to get wiped out by a random shadow's instant death spell.
Shadow Kanji's dungeon... 3 hours of grinding wasted....

I did not sleep well that night.

Don't give up when you fight sleeping table. You don't always need 4 chars to fight

Play on Easy difficulty the first time. Seriously, it's a huge help.
Unless you're used to the difficulty of Shin Megami Tensei, of course, in which case, go ahead with Normal.
But for the love of god, don't touch Hard. Ever. You will be slaughtered.

Start on easy. The game is pretty difficult, so it should be easiest to experience on easy. Don't go to tarturus every night, and leave when people start getting tired. Try and do all the social links you can. Go to the mall at night for bonus social links. Don't be afraid to grind levels. You will need to do it, so don't fight it. Fuse personas as much as possible. Save up all your moneys for weapons and armor. Think that is about it... Good luck, and have fun! P3 is a great game.

It seems like you have enough advice to follow as it is. You're brave trying Persona 3 first, most people seem to have played Final Fantasy before they tried SMT games. Hope you enjoy it. Just don't neglect the SEES members' accessories. There are some very good armour elemental bracers which can protect or augment spells, I always found it good to have the elemental immunities and weaknesses in the team balance each other out.

Make sure you take time out to hang with your NPC Friends. The game gives you a certain amount of days to save people. It may seem like you have to rush but you have more time than you think. So spend some time outside the dungeon hanging out with people. The more you hang out the stronger your bond will become. Each friend corisponds to a type of Persona you can create and the higher your bond with that type of persona the more bonuses it gets when you create it.

Also the bosses are hard as hell so make sure you do some serious leveling up before fighting them.

P3 is easy if you are not retarded. Really the only tip you need is do social links and fuse personas. Otherwise it's simply buff and exploit. It's like pokemon, you have to have the super effective persona or it's going to be tough (then again buffs/debuffs actually do shit so maybe not, seriously use them).

Oh and when fusing personas they will inherit skills, if you want them to inherit a certain skill you can select them (which shows the outcome) and if it didn't have it deselect them and select them again and it will change the skills. Usually the better skills have a lower chance of being passed on so I always had to do that.
