Ehm, yes they are. They are definitely anthropomorphic. From Urban Dictionary.CarlMinez said:MPL really doesn't annoy me as much as it used to. Although the phenomenon still has many fans, it seems like most people, the loud, obnoxious internet-meme kind of people that made MPL a pest to begin with, has moved on to whatever next shallow internet thing they want to be a part of.
Left are the real fans that, despite occasionally posting gifs with forced memes and other spam in threads, aren't all that annoying.

No, I'm not saying that simply consuming media which involves anthropomorphic animal characters makes you a furry. I'm saying that obsessing over the characters in question definitely makes you a furry.Shadowstar38 said:From Urban Dictionary.CarlMinez said:MPL really doesn't annoy me as much as it used to. "There is no one single definition of what a furry is. Even within the furry fandom, people cannot always agree on just what makes a person a furry or not. Others would argue that even liking anthropomorphic creatures makes you a furry. You may have no idea the furry fandom exists or have ever heard of a furry convention, let alone any of the websites; simply liking 'anthro' critters makes you a furry.
The way I see it, if or if you don?t consider yourself a furry is a matter of personal opinion. "
By your standards, everyone thats every liked watching Looney tunes, or Disney Movies with talking animals in it is a furry. Anyone who enjoys playing Sonic or Starfox would be a furry by your difinition as well.
Perhaps would should not be so quick to put people under labels.
A great deal of things, from poetic personifications such as "the pasionately burning sun", to common idioms like "the chair's leg".CarlMinez said:Ehm, yes they are. While it's true that what constitutes as furry is discussed, the one thing all furries have in common is an interest in anthropomorphic animal characters. If you just watch MPL then you're probably not a furry, but if you are deep within the fandom, have your own pony-character or write fanfiction or draw the characters from the series, well then there's probably a bit of furry in you, no doubt.
In the end, nobody is in position to change the definition of a term just because they don't want to be associated to some label.
Oh god crystalsnow is bitching againcrystalsnow said:I'm more sick of jackasses giving the whole fanbase more attention than it deserves. If strange, emotionally repressed people want to jerk off to pony-human hybrid porn, WHO GIVES A SHIT. They can do whatever the fuck they want. They can have their memes and endless flow of jpegs. What really bothers me is people constantly bringing up this god damn topic of "Oh gee willikers, those bronies sure are doofuses, right you guys?" and inciting ANOTHER FUCKING BATTLEGROUND for people to ***** and moan about what is socially acceptable and how "Nah duudee, not all bronies are the saaamee, maaaaannn".
If you really want these people to stop getting in your face, then go look in the mirror and take notes, because you need to consider your own damned criticism.
And you know what, I'm calling it right now, I'm going to get a shitload of flak for this post, because people are going to skim right through it and regard it as nothing but "That crystalsnow guy whining again", but I'm putting it up anyway, because for the people who DO read this through, and DO pay attention to what I'm saying, then listen to what I'm about to tell you.
Stop making these fucking threads. Stop bitching about every little nuance you come across on the internet. Stop giving attention to a group of people who deserve little more than an sidelong glance. Stop forming "sides" in arguments that serve no purpose and will never end. And for the love of god STOP SEARCHING FOR SHIT YOU DIDN'T WANT TO SEARCH FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. This may come as a shock to some of you intellectual wizards, but the internet works in such a way that you actually get to search for stuff you're interested in, RATHER THAN STUFF THAT PISSES YOU OFF.
The internet is young. A lot of you people probably think that crap like this whole MLP situation is a rare occurrence and probably won't happen very often in the future. You're wrong. This shit is all over the place already, and its only going to get worse. And at some point you have to realize that, and just.deal.with.it.
Ninja edit: For any of the wiseasses out there who DO happen to skim through this without reading for comprehension, just know that I will only be responding to those with insightful commentary on what I've had to say.
Then you're probably not a furry. Because if you write and draw human characters, we're not longer talking about anthropomorphic animal characters.Alterego-X said:And what if I'm a hardcore brony, but I draw fully humanized characters, and write humanfic?CarlMinez said:No, I'm not saying that simply consuming media which involves anthropomorphic animal characters makes you a furry. They are into the how because they think it's a good show. Most people you talk to were put off by the fact that they were ponies before they sit down to watch it. It's not that they're into animal characters.CarlMinez said:No, I'm not saying that simply consuming media which involves anthropomorphic animal characters makes you a furry. Though most normal people are assholes too, so I would say that you are the deviant one, and the asshole bronies like me are the normal people.Threeseventyfive said:Yeah I know how you feel. Sadly, the bronies, like ANY other group contain a few shitheads that make everyone else in the group look like idiots.
Please remember that we aren't all furries, cloppers or assholes. Most of us are just normal people.
The only common thing in NGE and LMP is that they are both ridiculously overdiscussed.Steagony said:Yo i hate bronies too dey call me the bronykilla but still, could you guys please stop acting like this show is anything but average? Eh, it's all a mater of opinion. You think the show is average, a lot of the people who watch it think it's top tier writing. Same with any other show.Steagony said:Yo i hate bronies too dey call me the bronykilla but still, could you guys please stop acting like this show is anything but average? It's getting kinda weird.
