Well you already mentioned my two top picks (GoW and Dante's). :/
I'd guess I'd say Splatter House which is only meh, but has a kickass metal soundtrack if that helps.

Castle Crashers is sidescrolling hacky slashy fun with a leveling system, item upgrades and great humor. Its an XBLA download and also a great multiplayer game.
