Absolutely ZERO sympathy for the company. Being a huge fan and supporter of Crackdown, I followed the creation of this game from its announcement, and they originally planned it for 360 and PC, they courted every major Xbox magazine in the UK, and even months after they announced it was going to be PC only, they still granted interviews to those magazines, never once correcting them. I'm guessing their tactic was 'any press is good press'.
Many console fans felt cheated and misled as we were tossed to the kerbside and the lure of filthy lucre took a hold. Maybe if they'd stayed the course and not alienated a whole sector of their demographic they wouldn't be in the position they're in now. It's no real loss anyway, BrinK is simply stepping into the void Realtime Worlds decide to vacate - and with much more content, attention to detail and class too.
So...serves 'em right. You reap what you sow.
Right, I'm off to play Crackdown 2 online on my 360.
