Dropbox may not like it though, it's not showing for me. Oh well.
Its still there on Dropbox, seems the direct link doesn't work for some reason. You used the img tags correctly tough, perhaps Dropbox doesn't allow hot linking or something.

This so much man. Thinking about getting a 3DS anyway, but this would make me get one for sure.
Actually started replaying Majoras Mask not to long ago, just got to Snowhead. (I'm taking my time)
Holding a N64 controller is really weird after so long though.

OT: Eh, do what you wanna do, its your phone.
People will see your background, sure, but if don't mind explaining then screw it.

I used to work at a cell phone store in middle of nowhere wi. One time a dude came in cause his phone was having problems and when i went to take a look at it the wallpaper was a picture of the female he was with wearing approximately as much as the op's wallpaper. It was a rather awkward situation for me...

It's your phone man, so you can choose what you want. You just have to be prepared to face the consequences. Such as explanations and weird looks. Hell, even any anime-heavy background would get you weird looks and questions. Much less a buxom, half-naked woman.

That's my phone background and I've gotten no questions yet. A few of my laptop's are a little suggestive, I have a "naked" cyborg in one and one with an angel and demon getting intimate.

If your phone background tells me what you enjoy jacking off to, then it's an inappropriate background.

I prefer to use an animated Dwarf Fortress background. It really confuses people when they see it.

When asking yourself "should I put this image on my phone", try to imagine the first reaction you'd have to your mother asking to borrow your phone. Not a good one? Don't use the image.
What if your mom likes busty anime girls?
Well, obviously then it's okay.

OT: I'll admit that once or twice I've found some pictures of "sexy" characters that I'd be half-tempted to use as a screen background, but... well, like many of the other responses so far, I'm a bit too self-conscious of what reactions they would get to actually use them. The image in the OP is very borderline NSFW, too, at least in my opinion.

For me, I still use my phone in the boring old-school manner just to text or call people. What's all this about internet connectivity, bah! Humbug. So my phone background is just a rocky beach scenescape that came with it. Though I might see if I can hook it up to my PC and transfer some of the images I use on rotation as my PC background.

I only care enough to like as to what I put on my phone/computer/tablet as a background. On my phone, both the lock screen and main home background are pictures of Applejack (MLP) looking angry and confused.
On my iPad, I have Jessica Nigri cosplays as the lock screen and home screen.[footnote]For my phone and iPad, I lack pictures due to I'd have to upload them from those devices and the cosplays are NSFW anyway.[/footnote]
On my computer I have Super Sonico doing a jump in midair, looking really cute and on my Galaxy Gear I have a bikini/swimsuit-clad Super Sonico.

If someone asks why I have specific pictures as backgrounds, I say because I like them. Simple as that. That explanation is usually accepted.

I usually use photos that I've taken, my phone background+lockscreen is a panorama of Winnal Marshes, (which is where Keats' 'To Autumn' was dreamed up) and my laptop screen is either

But currently is a really lovely picture of Bespin on a grey-day.

very pretty <:

My background is a picture of Sunn O))) from Black One, but no one ever looks at it.

Maybe that's your problem.

I'm too lazy to figure out how to get a new background on my non-smart phone, so I still have the picture of my daughter from back when I figured it out once(that was three years ago). My desktop, I change fairly frequently. Currently running this:

That's a bit on the weird side, but I guess it isn't fsar from people putting half naked real girls on their phone as backgrounds. I still don't get the concept.

My HTC One has a live wallpaper of the Twilight Mirror from The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, which I enjoy. My desktop computer is far different though, having two space pictures edited so that each monitor has a different picture (But the image is still a single picture). Looks nice~

From time to time I've dabbled with eye candy wallpapers for my laptop/phone but I just don't have the nerve. Tasteful non-nudes of Porn Stars mostly, I would use but then I getting kinda bothered by the idea of sharing publicly what I find attractive.

For a while my phone was Tardis theme. The lock screen was the outside, the inside was well inside the Tardis.

Right now it's some gory pics from Hotline Miami. I'm rocking them on my Facebook/Twitter as well, so lets hope I'm never in the news.

Why?

And I suppose, according to the opinions in here that I shouldn't change my background for the summer to this:

I guess I'm not sure what I want to put as my background then.

I would never ever use what you used, ever. Just like with Facebook display pictures, never use something you wouldn't like you boss/parents/relatives/friends to see.

To be honest, I rarely use anything that if people asked what it is I'd have to start with 'Oh, er... well it's from <insert hobby/IP here>'. But that's just because I'm all British and repressed.

Even so, at the moment my phone has this:

But that's because I made it and was more than a bit satisfied with it, so I am going to use it. Plus as someone who wants to be a graphic designer, it helps to be able to quickly show someone a small sample of what I can do.

My current PC background is this:

http://th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2012/202/f/f/high_resolution_tamriel_map__elder_scrolls_series__by_belhene-d581jpg.png

because anyone that comes into my room and will see my PC understands what it is and therefore there is no awkwardness.

I'm not sure how anyone could be this oblivous any way but intentionally, and it seems that the only reason for that is to get a response.

I'd post my backgrounds, but I can't find any links to the phone one, and I'm not bothered to upload my computer one. The phone's got Joe Principe of Rise Against pretending he's immune to the pull of gravity, the computer has a screenshot from the Darkness 2 of creepy ramblings on the walls of the asylum. Been meaning to change that one, stretching 16:10 to 16:9 on a bigger monitor is not a good look.

Too right, it is your phone and you can put whatever the hell you want as your background.

Technically.

I say technically cus you have to bear in mind that people will still wonder and you must decide if you care or not. It may well drive a wedge (of varying sizes since some people will outright call that porn) between you and said people.

About what I just highlighted from your post; is there really nothing else you can think of that you would want to see as your background? Nothing in this thread for instance? I think that's something you should ask yourself. I've only seen 2 of your ideal backgrounds but they both feature mostly-naked anime chicks with boobs bigger than their heads. The bottom line is; whether or not people like to or even intend to, they will judge. Subconsciously if necessary.

Appropriate has different meanings to different people
I know people who would tell me my lock screen is "inappropriate"
And that my background is "inappropriate"
Even though technically, neither are.

Both are just an actor I like. And I honestly can't be arsed to change either right now. Nor do I have anything I want to.

Sometimes I'll make my lock screen background this

But I've been too lazy to put that photo back onto my phone to put it as my lock screen again. Until September.

But appropriate comes down(to me at least) of "is this something I'm going to be embarrassed about if questioned?"

And all my phone backgrounds have always been a resounding no for that question. If it's a no then it's appropriate. If yes then you might want to re-consider.

I think what Pluvia means OP, is that it's generally considered a bad picture to use as a background due to its risque nature. That it's in 'anime/manga aesthetic' doesn't help as it may more easily make people who see it (and are unfamiliar/uncomfortable with that kind of style) think you're weird or some kind of deviant or something. Especially because of the exaggerated proportions of certain attributes that you seem to favor in the pictures you've posted so far :p

Personally, I think of phone backgrounds as part of what can be considered your "public face", or part of the image you present to the world at large. It's your phone of course, so if you don't mind the assumptions/snap-judgements people can and do make about people around them, then best of luck to you, use whatever background you want.

I'd never use something like that myself though, if I can't use something as my computer-background at work I generally wouldn't use it for my phone. I usually prefer for my boss/colleagues to not ostracize me.

How could those be considered inappropriate Blow Pop? I don't understand that at all.

I choose my backgrounds on the foundation of "If your parents see it and don't get weirded out, then it's okay." As long as they're SFW and you are okay with showing your parents without getting embarrassed, then I would say you're good.

I've been watching The Office, and I have come to admire the almighty face of Jim Halpert that indicates his feelings of bottled up remorse and anguish.
This background references a show I like without being obtrusive. When people look at it, they don't think "Gee, this guy's a weirdo." They think, "Hey, that's neat."

As for the OPs image, well... I'm sure you would get a weird look from a lot of people with a picture like that. Maybe find something a little less... robust?
