I once punched a guy in the face at Halloween Horror Nights. He popped out of a dumbster with a chainsaw and I just hauled off and nailed him. Pow, right in the kisser! That's how I got banned. That close enough?

In my defense, I punched him out of pure instinct and he had it coming.
Oh my god, are you this guy? [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg3zesVdhSY]

How is breaking your computer a prank? It's not funny, it's not a trick, it's not a prank, and it's not productive in any way.

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would be ok with just quitting all the holidays from now on.

OH! You got me! You told me something and it wasn't the truth and I believed you because I thought it was the truth! I'm so silly! This is so much fun!

No, I am not that guy. Seriously, it just a reflex! I can't believe the guy actually wanted to press charges. It was either to to court or get banned from Halloween Horror Nights. I think I made the right choice.

See, my friends wouldn't do something like that.

No, not because they're nice, oh god, no.

But because they know anyone who breaks into my house at night gets a load of buckshot to the face.

I prefer the French version of April Fools, "Jour de Poisson."

Cookie if you know what that stands for.

Bigger cookie for knowing what people do for it.

"The mods banning everyone."

I'm afraid I really don't have people do anything drastic for April Fools to me. On the other hand, I've got a friend who decided to tell her boyfriend she was pregnant today as a joke. She has yet to tell him it's an April Fools joke. She's done this twice now...
I actually heard today about this exact thing happening.

... I don't suppose you were telling the same story to somebody else earlier this evening? That would be a weird intersection of the Internet and actual life.

Anyway, April Fool's sucks. Personally all the false bans bug me. Hopefully nobody is losing their Neo over that.

Oh, no one lost their Neo badge since (I think) they only banned the very high profile posters, mostly anyone who was above 7k posts.

And I'm not sure. I haven't told anyone about this story but I was told about this from said friend... Are you perhaps from Indiana?

Nope. West Coast here. Guess it's a popular (read: unoriginal) trick to play.

And I know for a fact that Erana (barely over 5000, I think) and some other low-count Gonzos were banned. It would suck if any of the April 1st stuff counted in your moderation history.

Heh, well I guess that's good. It'd make things quite odd if I actually knew someone on the Escapist that I knew in real life...

Well, some of those people may have already ruined their chance for Neo anyway. Regardless, I doubt they'd ruin people's chance for Neo like this.

In the op's defense, it's still April 1st in the US--11:30 pm on the east coast, 8:30 on the west coast. However, I defend him begrudgingly because this is exactly the kind of lame-ass April Fool's joke I hate. Telling a story you made up and then saying "I lied" a couple hours later is not exactly a prank. It's quick, easy and boring for everyone who was subjected to it.
Indeed. It's like a Bel-Air, except without the fun images of Will Smith singing the song you get from it.

People don't try to preform April Fools pranks on me for two very good reasons. First they are scared shitless of me and dismiss the though right away(No joke the better part of my school is convinced I will someday just nap and kill everyone. It works for me though as I avoid contact with most of those dumbass media controlled conformists anyways.). Second, anyone who is stupid enough to not dismiss the idea gets my limb for limb look that makes them run away and cower to where they fuck they should be.

Lets go for what's behind door number "pressing charges". For breaking and entering and vandalism to say the least.

Luckily I've never associated with any that psychotic. Of course it helps that i'm cynical about everything. Also I can't really think of any. I think my cousin's moved my grandma's car a block and said it was stolen but that's it.
Edit: Well played. Not that I don't believe that someone somewhere would be stupid enough to do that.

I don't really have practical jokes played on me. This could be because I'm "scary". Also one of the first rules I make with my friends is "Don't fuck with me". I'm not kidding that's what I have said to all of my roommates and we're all friends. And I fucking mean it!

Thank god he wasn't around on April Fool's last year, but I had a friend named Jack (he played a Ret Pally in Wow so...) who was/is a batshit bonkers asshole who used to hang out around my apartment all the time. He was known for pranks and generally stupid shit and never shied away from doing things to poor old me. Examples:
1. Shit in a dixie cup and put it under my bed
2. Found a dead possum and put it in a coffee maker box, knocked on my door at 3 am and left the box sitting in front of the door upside down
3. Moved all of the furniture out of my room, including TV and Xbox, out into the courtyard and sat on my bed playing Guitar Hero (thanks to a long ass extension cord).

So yeah, in almost all those cases I responded with, "fuck you."
