It seems like the diferent types of gamers listen to different music.

FPS, casual and "college" (i.e your typical XBox live people who just play the "manliest of games") gamers listen to Rap, Hip hop and dance.

The average/casual/all around/sandbox gamer listens to pop/rock and radio hits

And the Rpg and jrpg gamers are more into metal and video game music (If you listen to The Black mages you can smack two flies in one shot)

This ins't entirely accurate, but it just seems that way at times

Does Front Line Assembly count as metal?
No, although more than a few rivetheads will accuse them of pandering to Industrial-Metal.
Lol, actually had to look the term rivethead up. FLA is about as close as I get to liking metal then, but I am about as far from the "scene" as you can get. Computer-geek father of 3 living in pre-apocalyptic suburbia who still listens to trance and techno as if I were still cool. :)

I've never understood or really liked any metal, punk or industrial, but on occasion I'll give a song, group or album a few extra listens.
