Are Pokemon games getting too complex?

Too complex? They aren't complex enough. Pokemon is so retarded. Here's a scenario;
"Oh shit! That guy has a water pokemon, GO GENERIC LIGHTNING POKEMON!"
*water pokemon gets zapped*
"That bastard killed my water pokemon, time to take out the trash. GO GENERIC ROCK POKEMON!"
*lightning pokemon gets whacked*
And so on and so forth. There's really no skill in this game at all. It's just strength trumping weakness. Pokemon go down in two hits max. This game has no depth, and is the least complex thing ever. That's why every kid loves it I guess, it's so easy to grasp.

Well, I don't think they should have stopped, but I do think that the graphics should have been kept the same as they were on ruby/sapphire. The new graphics seem to me to be trying too hard, and just slow down the actual gameplay.
It's frustrating really. If they could make a DS version with the same style as ruby/sapphire graphics then I would not hesitate to get it. The games would be far better if they stopped caring so much about making everything look somehow more realistic, or whatever they're aiming for.
Aside from that, I like the new innovations. EVs and IVs are somewhat beyond me, but that's all. Everything else is good in my opinion.

I really get wound up by all these people who say things like "They should have stopped with Gold" and "Gold and Silver were the best". It seems obvious that the new games are better than the pre Advance games.

Example two: game length. The older games didn't really have anthing for you to do oce you'd finished the storyline, except for finishing the pokedex which most players don't do anyway and is still possible. The newer games have added the Battle tower/frontier which gives battlers something to do after they've finished the main storyline. Diamond and Pearl also have a whole section of the game world that can't be accessed until you've finished the main storyline so this adds a lot to the games longevity.
Example three: The actual pokemon. Many of the Advance haters seem to have a hatred of all new pokemon. I don't really see what was so good about the first 151 or 251. The curent number of pokemon makes the games a lot mre interesting as there is more variety.
Example four: multiplayer. The DS games have added a great deal of playability to the game by increasing what you can do multiplayer. Things like the underground and linked tower/frontier make the game a lot more fun.
I will probably think of more things in the vague future and add them to this post.

Some of the complexity comes from hybrid type pokemon or pokemon that can learn multiple move elements. what can be realy annoying though is the sheer number of pokemon to catch and the large number that can only be caught by special events or action replay.
another irritation was that pokemon gem versions don't work with metal or color ones, so the special event pokemon you caught for them have to be somehow re-obtained or hacked into the game, especially if they start watermarking their pokemon.
I will turn off the signature if it annoys anyone.

Um...are you kidding me? Poke'mon is as far away as possible from complicated. However, there is more content that has been added since the original, which adds more to the overall strategy and makes it from becoming a little old. Although, Yellow was definitely my all time favorite, with Crystal at a close second.
